Anyway, the bombshell has yet to fall in many people's minds. We've f***** up for years on long term solutions to our environmental problems. This virus will be the first of many. Get used to your whole lives being like this and live miserably in permanence, or live your lives freely again until you die.1 -

Has it been explained why this has been called off 11 days after their positive test yet?0

They'll go into our game with no match fitness / training etc. so it is a bit unfair to expect them to play the very next day0 -
Said it in the PPG thread but now Wimbledon v Ipswich is off bring forward the AFC Wimbledon away game before more cancellations happen and more fixtures pile up.0

It’s a great point they should consider doing this throughout the leagues to ease later congestion. With no fans there is no issue changing a fixture at short notice ( week) surely?Plus I will have another Charlton game to watch over the holiday period1 -

There really is nothing else to discuss.2 -

We gained back FA Cup Second round day. We’ve lost Bristol Rovers and Peterborough. If we were to be in a similar situation to those clubs and miss 2/3 games due to Covid, we’d be in a hell of a rush to get games finished I’d think0 - Sponsored links:

Can someone tell me if my understanding of the situation is correct. Players that we have been unable to select due to covid have not actually tested positive for it, but have been in contact with someone who has? Peterborough have had a player test positive, so all the squad have to isolate. Regarding the ten days, I am with Golfie generally, so the EFL have now to make it clear exacty how many days after this period that teams are expected to play.2

Lot of heartless b#stards on here.
Ok I go with that though make Peterborough play on the 11th day.
I wonder what the attitude would be though if a couple of our players got coronavirus and they topped up in a bad way.
We then got the other team saying come on you've had your 10 days.
Luckily enough it seems none of the players in any of the leagues have suffered badly from coronavirus.4 -

We've played games over the past month where players have not been available because of Covid (Levitt, Oshilaja & Morgan). Perhaps we should have postponed all those matches too. Matches in which we were weaker because of it......and possibly could have won them if we had had a proper centre half instead of playing Gunter there.6 -

Luckily enough it seems none of the players in any of the leagues have suffered badly from coronavirus.Would it be right for Peterborough to be investigated and be told actually we think you should have played and deduct them points? Was it right that Sunderland played with eight players missing? At the moment the only rule is 10 days and that applies to everyone in the Country. If the EFL have a different view they need to let everyone know what that is, because that would be fair to all.4 -

So far, it's not hit us hard, but it may do and if/when it does we'll need to postpone games. I'd agree there needs to be more consistency from the EFL (when doesn't there?) but in this case I can understand why Posh have postponed.0 -
Anyway it's nice to see the efl take leadership.0

Again here you appear to be referring to a hypothetical situation "...if a couple of our players got coronavirus and they topped up in a bad way.".
Now, I am reading this (and again, I may misunderstand) as you saying we would be upset if two of our players were seriously ill with covid, and the rest of the now fit and clear to play squad, were required to play on the 11th day? If your problem is with playing when someone in the squad is seriously ill, then 10, 20 or 30 days makes absolutley no difference to that scenario, does it? They are ill no matter when the next game is played. Are you saying if that happens, all a club's games should be postponed until the player is better?
On the other hand, if no one gets seriously ill (and as you say, that is the most likely outcome as "...none of the players in any of the leagues have suffered badly from coronavirus."), then a game has been postponed for no reason. I have no problem with the rule being 12, 14 or 24 days - whatever - but once it is set, it needs to be adhered to.

The Ipswich physio suggesting a circuit breaker may be needed.0 -
Teams in our league are starting to go down like ninepins and there'll doubtless be many other postponements in the near future. As others have said, some leadership and guidance from the EFL wouldn't go amiss.
A real shame about the Peterborough postponement, as it would have been good to have a game to watch between Christmas and New Year. I have mixed feelings about Peterborough - I've had a couple of excellent away trips there but I now have a major grudge against Darragh MacAnthony for colluding with his odious friend, Matt Southall, in trying to pull the wool over our eyes about signing Maddison for a fee last January when he probably knew that we were under a transfer embargo. It was a ruse designed to try and buy Southall a little more time and, from MacAnthony's point of view, to try and stimulate a bit of interest in Maddison.2 -

I'm not really bothered how we do it.
In my post above yours I did put nice to see the efl take leadership.
You talk about the 10,20 30 day scenario , worst case scenario a player tops up dying on day 18 might even be our player are we saying play the game Saturday because that's the rules.

I dont know what other clubs have done.
But just looked at Portsmouth and theyve got some players across the country and one even in county Donegal.0 -

I can certainly see why Peterborough have called off their game with us but the rules are 10 days in isolation and then carry on as normal. For me outside the 10 day period I don't think it is for the club to be making the decision.0

Rotherham game off
Pompey more positives0 -
Portsmouth's next two matches, against Swindon on 26 December and Bristol Rovers on 29 December, are off after positive coronavirus tests at the club.
Five members of the playing squad and backroom team have tested positive.
League One Pompey are the sixth English Football League side to postpone upcoming fixtures because of Covid-19.
League rivals Ipswich,Sunderland and Peterborough have called off festive games, along with Rotherham and Millwall in the Championship.
The five who have tested positive at Portsmouth are now self-isolating, along with those they have been in close contact with.

Top 6 could be interesting after the New Year fixtures. With Pompey & Peterborough not playing over xmas & us at Hull on Jan 2nd there could be 4 or 5 teams all within a point of each other.1

Two Blackpool players (Chris Maxwell and Matty Virtue) have returned positive COVID tests now
Their game hasnt been called off against Rochdale as yet, Blackpool have brought in Sam Walker (Goalkeeper) on emergency loan from Reading so doesnt look like they're preparing to get it called off either1
