I have been one of the people giving Jonny William's a bit of a roasting on here, that is because what we saw yesterday is what he should be doing every game. He drove forward going past people and being positive. It has been so frustrating watching him the last few months just running in circles and trying to win cheap fouls, he is better than that and hopefully he will continue on from yesterday
One of the reasons (admittedly not the only reason) he runs round in circles is there is noone moving for him to pass to.  Its no coincidence the best spell JW has had for us was in a team that had Gallagher, Taylor and Leko in it.

It's a shame we never saw him with Aribo, Taylor and Grant because that would have been something in league 1.
I saw him in league one with the above, where were you ?
4 games between Williams signing and Grant leaving, Aribo missed all 4.  Where were you?
And Taylor suspended for 3 games.

He was sent off in the 3rd I think

But other than that it's a flawless story

Probably you're right there ...... off the top of my head without checking, it was Sunderland at home 1-1, Shrewsbury away 3-0 and home to Accrington who kicked us off the park 1-0 but it was Taylor red carded, 1-0 with a last gasp Karlan penalty.

A less the subtle cryptic message from Williams?
Respect is earned ... by bottling out of tackles?

If the choice is JW or LB, goodbye Johnny.
Even if he alienates the whole squad with his behaviour? No man is bigger than the club.

If Bowyer is losing it, TS either needs to support him or replace him.

I hope LB can turn it around, but it seems he's alienating the squad one at a time. The fact we know a seasoned pro has come out and said he's losing it is very concerning.
Is there any actual evidence that LB is 'losing it'?
Heard it directly from a player yesterday
    Had any updates on this?

The teams actions on Saturday seem to contradict this players assertion.

Oh no. Let's hope tonight's postponement doesn't leave people with little to do other than re-open the old "Bottlegate" saga!

Yep totally agree. Haven't seen the player in question since I last updated you on here.

Player seemed very happy on Saturday. Funny that.

Following the high of last Saturday, LB left Williams glued to the bench yesterday. Williams has been on the pitch for just 425 minutes this season in the League, only started 3 games and is very rarely brought on when we are in front. Williams 3 starts this season:

Northampton - came off after 77 minutes with us winning 2-0. We won by the same score
Portsmouth - came off after 71 minutes with us winning 1-0. We won 2-0
Ipswich - came off after 55 minutes with us winning 1-0. We won 2-0

Small sample but it hardly gives any rise to the belief that we are weaker and likely to concede when Williams starts does it? One of those games was against the team currently sitting top of the table. Equally and by comparison, we've only won 2of the 7 games that Gilbey has started and in one of those he was brought off when we were losing!

All I can think is that LB really doesn't like him. Because not giving Williams a single minute let alone a start against one of, if not, the worst teams in the division after he's put in a match winning performance 7 days before (and only played 25 minutes in that one too) doesn't add up. It also only serves to undermine any confidence that Williams might have gained following that performance.

If he's off to Cardiff, good luck to him. Always liked Jonny but feel he's now out of Bows plans.

No, no PeP, there's a full blown 'should he go or should he stay' debate ongoing on the Transfer Targets / Rumours thread! Fancy posting that link on here, whatever next 😉.

Williams always gives 100% but he doesn’t seem to achieve anything other that falling over and free kicks which just stop starts the match. It’s like watching Mike Reid’s Runaround “Well played winkle”. If only he could produce an end result.

Quite, posts should ONLY be relevant to a thread title.
  • Thought he made a good impact at Wembley, so good luck JW from me.

It’s my main reason for him wanting to stay. He changed that game in a way none of our other players that day could have. If we’re looking at play offs at best this season, then I want him in the matchday squad.

He's very good on a big pitch where it doesn't easily get congested. Wembley was the perfect pitch for him.

Well if the latest rumour is true and he has failed his medical then atleast we can save him for our next Wembley game
  • Has there been any confirmation the deal with Cardiff is off yet?

Nope, nor has the "failed" medical been mentioned by a reputable Journalist like Cawley or someone from SKY either

Lesson to some to not believe everything they read...especially on transfer deadline day lol
