Underwhelmed. But he starts with a clean sheet from
me. (Except he’s called Nigel).3 -
watching that video can't help but like the bloke, humorous and very charismatic, I'm sure the players will warm to him very quickly. Great news that JJ is staying.

I wasn't sure at first, but I think it could be a shrewd appointment. Looking forward to the journey.2

Something just feels right about Adkins - and it didn't with the other names being banded about - Cook, Cowley etc - I just couldn't see them at Charlton. I have a good feeling about this appointment, COYA15

Late to this very significant party as usual ....but SO pleased to have finally arrived.
THIS is the news I was hoping for following a day of deliberation after Tues evening's match.
Thanks, Thomas, for what I believe is the best possible solution at this moment in time.
Bless your cotton socks !!!3 -
Beginning to think that Thomas is incapable of doing anything wrong.I guarantee that keeping JJ was a part of the deal with
Adkins,he obviously saw the respect the players had for JJ and how popular he is.15 -
JJ must've been given some reassurance that the job could be his one day. Adkins is experienced, and supposedly a good motivator.
Thinking seems to be let Nigel get us up, stabilise and then hopefully Johnnie will be fully ready to take over when needed.
I dont hate it.5 - Sponsored links:

Underwhelmed but has my support.

I'm pleased.
I's not someone I even thought of when Bowyer went, but he's got a good record, seems a good bloke, and tries to play good football.

Third time lucky?
Er, I think you’ll find his name is still Nigel.11 -
Wouldn’t have been my choice but I’ll get behind him . Good luck Mr Adkins2
-
Not sure why everybody is happy about the coaching team remaining in place. Defensive organisation and therefore coaching has been a major problem this season. to think this was just down to Bowyer is naive in my view. Be delighted to be proved wrong but suspect this will be a temporary solution and Adkins will look to change/strengthen at end of season.
Mixed feelings about Adkins but pleased it has been dealt with promptly2 -
How much mileage can we get out of his name being Nigel?2
-
I'm actually quite pleased about this.

He speaks well doesn't he comes across confident without being arrogant.10

Brilliant news. I would have been really disappointed if it had not been him after reading and watching so much about him.1
-
Can't wait till we get to play Palace in the Prem and that "the Nigels" get whooped by Nigel!!!!1
-
Also underwhelmed, but will have my total support .welcome to CAFC Nigel.1

I think when it comes down to it when you take away the likes of Howe and Wilder and with us in League One I think Adkins is a solid appointment especially with Jacko as his assistant i'm far more happier than I was when his name first popped up.3
-
If you judge by charisma alone then he is top half premiership to Bowyer’s Vanarama7
-
Watched his interview with olly - really positive guy who straight off the bat talked about getting youth players developed and give them a pathway to the first team. The more I think about it the more I Think this is a very shrewd appointment19
-
Looking forward to Saturday and beyond. U23s and 18s - keep at your best, chances now more likely to come & mistakes allowed...1
-
Five years ago would have been delighted.
Now I have a slight doubt over what he's done since and does he still have it but his CV is very impressive, his teams play "good" football, he gets teams up and he develops young players so considering we are a league one side I think it's a very good appointment. Keeping JJ is very good news too.
Like any Charlton boss or player I only wish him the very best of luck.
Now, when can he do a Bromley Addicks meeting @Tracey? : - )13
