Made this for dinner. It was lovely.  https://www.connoisseurusveg.com/vegan-irish-stew/

I see it uses nutritional yeast flakes. I’ve just this week bought them for the first time. They actually taste sort of cheesy. Good to see a recipe using them!

Is that the Energevita yeast flakes?  I use them on my protein porridge in the morning along with other seeds/nuts.  Adds a fantastic nutty/cheesy taste - has transformed the plain porridge

The one I found is called BOSH. I'm putting it on all sorts of things now. Not sure I could handle savory tasting porridge!

Ha ha...I'll check out the Bosh one.  There are 2 types of Engevita - the 'natural' one with the blue label - says savoury but not spicy savoury and works well on porridge - more nutty than anything.  There is a 'proper' savoury one that I haven't tried yet.

Vegan YouTuber shocked at meat industry practices. Well, colour me surprised.

Meat eater shocked at meat industry practices would be more of a worthwhile headline, don't you think?

Why would it? Majority of vegans were shocked meat eaters when they see stuff like this, I know I was. A lot of meat eaters will watch this and not feel shocked which is a bit disturbing imo. How anyone can watch vids like that and not make the change immediately baffles me

https://youtu.be/7Y_FHhByhBk This is what pig farming in Britain looks like in 2021. Considering that pigs are as intelligent and as sociable as dogs how is it we treat one as soulmates and one as just a commodity? ‘Yeah but bacon though’ is no justification for the cruelty we inflict on these sentient beings.

Awful viewing. Cutting their tails and teeth because they are in such a dreadful, unnatural environment that they will bite each other due to stress and boredom. Similarly in commercial egg-laying chicken farms their beaks are trimmed when very young to stop them pecking each other for the same reason. ‘Enrichment’ of their environment is meant to reduce stress and pecking. Meant to. Proper enrichment would be to let them outside.
