    A passionate committed performance from England. Well deserved win with a slice of luck with the penalty. Too bad some England supporters chose to jeer the Danish national anthem. Hopefully the ignorant idiots will respect other countries national anthems in future. Also hope they're able to find the laser shining idiot too and ban him for life. It's one thing showing support for your country but let's respect others whilst doing so.

    I think we have to look at the different expectations of the teams. The Denmark manager could see they were compromised as a force and a draw was the result they were trying to achieve. When England got the lead, that was the result England were trying to achieve and Grealish was taken off. Had a ten man Denmark scored from one of their two late corners, I reckon Southgate would have been demolished.

    It takes a certain courage to do these things, but they are done because the manager thinks they are what is needed. If they achieve the right result they are vindicated and if not they are wrong and that is absolutely how it is in high stakes tournament football.

    Come off it. It was central. He got his feet all wrong and isn't helped by his teeny tiny arms. A taller keeper would have saved it even with Pickford's poor reaction, but he didn't move to it quickly enough and set off wrong. Failing to save a free kick bang in the middle of your goal is not good no matter how hard it's struck. Which is a shame because he's had a good tournament all together

    Agree with this. You could see that a lot of the Danes were out on their feet, clearly bringing on the fresh legs to try and hold on and sacrificing any attacking hope they had was probably the only move he could have made. From later in the second half the game was only going one way and he had to do something to try and stop that.

    He’d have stood a better chance if the Danes hadn’t illegally moved their wall to close the the gap

    But that's the point, if he'd have been a foot or two nearer the middle of the goal rather than leaving 2/3 of the goal gaping, he would have got there.

    And yes, it would have been a good save, but he's supposed to be a good keeper and you'd hope he makes good saves.

    The area between a great save and should have done better is generally non existent in football.

    It's something that's been picked up before about Pickford. 

    He also uses the wrong hand, should always use your upper arm when trying to save one of those near crossbar shots.

    Does feel like a fair bit of clutching at straws is going on when the debate is happening around whether a goalkeeper should have saved a well hit free kick. 

    If he tips that over then it would have been seen as an incredible save.

    It’s not as if he dropped the ball in the net.

    This is untrue. The Trippier sub was excellent.     At the end of the day,we are all armchair commentators with differing opinions.Grealish was an outlet,whenever he had the ball,he caused problems and earned plenty of set pieces.I just do not like settling for a score and taking attacking players off and replacing them with more defensive ones to defend the lead.Yes we were still the better team,and Trippier let no one down.But they had several corners,and with big lads to aim at,might have scored.it worked,decision vindicated,no problems,but how many times have we seen managers make similar decisions and regret it when the opposition makes use of the conceded attacking threat.

    All I will say on the Danish goal, is that the Scotland keeper would have been standing on the halfway line.

    Dear me! In the first three games he was awful, looked like an absolute liability to the team.

    Last night? Looked like the best centre forward in the world.

    Even worse than that, they ended up with 10 men because of an injury and he'd used up his 6 subs.
