The plan here in Spain is to give all Secondary students the vaccine in September when they return to school. Makes sense and hopefully that way the schools will stay open and cases remain low.3

Just moved my 2nd vaccine (and my wife's) forward from 19th August to 29th July. A few friends have done the same.4

I'm sure I read somewhere that no second jabs should be given before 8 weeks.0

We now have over 45 million with the 1st jab and the 2nd jab will surely catch up in the coming weeks.
So at what point will herd immunity kick in.

We live with the flu in so much as there are annual jabs and plenty of days missed through illness and excess deaths. The question of course is "what is the alternative?" which is the same that applies here. Hopefully, there are lesson learned about hygiene and staying at home if you are ill.0

It's really difficult to compare because they are obviously not the same thing and affect different age groups. But my rough estimate is that around 50 - 70 people end up in hospital every day and 5 - 6 of them die as a result of traffic accidents.
Currently around 5 - 10 times that number are suffering the same fate as a result of Covid.0 -

Whole family over the weekend have tested positive for covid
3 out of 4 of us have been double jabbed while my boy is only 14 so no jabs for him.
can say the experience is still not very pleasant only my daughter seems to escaped not really feeling to bad, all I’m saying you still don’t want to catch it even if your double jabbed and it keeps you out of hospital1 -

Im not too surprised though. I think between now and October pretty much every one of us is going to get exposed to the virus. Hope you are all well soon.

So I believe about 85% Have had the 1st jab and the 2nd jab will catch up at some point.
So we could have herd immunity by the time winter arrives.
I think this is a positive or am I missing something.
So, in any population, the more people that are vaccinated, the higher the levels of herd immunity. But 100% vaccination does not mean 0% infection.
But once you have had both jabs even though you can catch it and pass it on the symptoms should be very mild.
Not having to go to hospital or need a ventilator so therefore the NHS should not get put under any more pressure that it can cope with.
So, you could get it and pass it on without ever knowing. You could have it and be in close contact with people whose vaccination status you don't know. And they might become infected, get symptoms, require hospitalisation, or die. Whether they've been vaccinated or not.
In short, there's no such thing as herd immunity as we think we know it.1 -
also all of us have minor coughs but fatigue, head aches and proper aching bones/muscles being main symptoms0

Finally had my second vaccination today at a walk in pharmacy in Taunton. Praying I don’t have similar side effects this time.11
-
Had my 2nd jab today. It was originally booked for the end of July but I moved it earlier and then earlier still. Sort of regretted booking it for 8am the day after the final for Guys when I had no need to go into the office but the train was nice and empty and I was back home by 9.15.10

for those who have booked via the NHS national booking system it has now been updated to allow second jabs to be moved to eight weeks. If you go to manage my booking the cancellation link shows the next availability at your chosen Center before you physically cancel and re book.7
