PaninoChizz said:Today, I had an impromptu picnic in the park. I went for a walk at lunchtime, but, as it was really warm, I nipped into a sandwich shop and bought a beautiful sun-blushed tomato and mozzarella panini and ate it in the park in the warm, windless, glorious summer sunshine.

I got paid by my new sponsor. After two years of effort and making it up as I went along, after building up enough debt to make the Lehman brothers wince, and after a year of minimal work thanks to Covid, leading to me claiming universal credit for the first time in my life (I couldn’t furlough myself as my business was too new), today I got the single biggest pay cheque of my life. By some distance.I have to pay off credit cards and buy some equipment, so it’s easy come, easy go, but I sincerely thought I’d be looking at a very dark financial outlook by now. Instead, I might just be able to buy my (modest) dream car!61

I saved a bumble bee.
It was struggling like a drunken sailor to walk across the garden and making an intermittent buzzing sound. Went and got a little bit of water for it to dip its legs into and then picked it up on a leaf before placing it gently onto a flower. Watched it do its business for a short time before it began to buzz solidly, flap its wings and fly off.

A Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid! I had one on a deal through a friends and family scheme and loved it, but Hyundai cancelled the scheme last year and I had to let it go. As it was driven away, I swore I would one day avenge it by buying another one.Lordflashheart said:

Mine is very insignificant to some of the wonderful posts already on here, however I lost my mobile this morning while out walking one of our GSD's, but didn't realise it until I was on my way to the shops, about 2 hours later!
I searched the house inside out and my car, but to no avail, Mrs RM rung it numerous times but nothing.
After searching for it for 5 hours and retracing my steps for the entire day, Id given up and was ready to cancel everything.
Then my Mrs got a call saying it had been found early doors this morning, but as was on silent missed the calls she had made.
Phone returned with a smile from an old lady who'd found it and desperately wanted to return it!
Faith in humanity was restored!28 -
Nice one @shine166shine166 said:Our sons gone from non verbal late April (2 yrs 3 months old), to now knowing 1-20, A-Z, upto 100 words and the last week saying Mummy/Daddy. Buzzing, doesn't quite do it justice.
my son was non-verbal until he was 6 1/2. It truely is amazing when you hear those first sounds / words.21 -
I’ve seen loads of bees on the ground struggling over the last couple of weeks. Never noticed this many before.Macronate said:I saved a bumble bee.

I'm in York. Seeing my mum for the 1st time in about 19months.
It's a beautiful area and the sun is shinning.
I'm really proud she's my mum and she's just great to be around.

My eldest had his first little induction session at what will be his new preschool. Little clingy to begin with but then went off and played and didn't want to leave. Ended up hugging a couple of staff at the end so that was nice.

First day off after breaking up from school, little or nothing to do as far as the dogs are concerned due to the heat. In the front garden painting preserver on the fence when a car pulled along side. The parents of our little girl with hearing issues wanted to thank me for doing what I do, they live in my road she had confidence issues due to her deafness and in a little over 6 weeks she’s become a new girl. Telling her parents I/we only had a small role to play I left my wife to continue the conversation as “ I thought I heard the dogs misbehaving” and took my leave and went in the house. 🥴11

Very good advice, but I'd advise against anyone getting those sugar-water feeders you can get. They seem like a good idea, but they encourage apine indolence which is not good for the environment.RodneyCharltonTrotta said:

Swear there was one thread on here where someone spoke about going for a number in the pub, looked down the toilet when they finished and saw it had disappeared - Bit later one of their mates went to the toilet and came back complaining as "someone" had shit on the floor16
