From what I've seen on Twitter it seems TS and NAs positivity about next season has increased expectations, we're expected to win the title comfortably. Some were expecting a brilliant squad to be put together very quickly, with us signing other clubs best players.
Throwing millions at it like that is one way to succeed but it's not the only way. I still expect the squad to look a lot better by the time the window closes.2 -

I can’t imagine the behind the scenes mess that was left by ESI and friends. Unfortunately some fans see Sandgaard’s overall wealth and presume everything with the club should be perfect.1 -

But I think the vast majority expected better signings thus far, to a greater or lesser extent.6 -

The only guarantee is that you've spent a huge amount of money - and maybe undermined the financial stability of the club.
Alternatively, you can take the best of what you already have; and judiciously add what you consider to be the right players (ability, budget and importantly character) to build a squad that can challenge in the promotion race.
The best eleven players rarely make the best team.
Remember Curbs old mantra? "The team is greater than the sum of its parts", paraphrasing the words and wisdom of Aristotle.
And no, not even Bexley Boy has seen him on trial at Sparrows Lane.: Cawley denied it too. smile:

3 weeks ago my pal left a message with the commercial Dept to sponsor a player, and was told they would call him back.No call ever came.2

I'm sure it's not been easy in recent years being on the payroll of Charlton but the club appear to be missing out on potential income. Would the club make more profit if they invested in greater staff resources?
If the club is to move forward, this area of activity needs to be better. Anybody showing interest in giving the club money should be on a mailing list to receive opportunities at the very least.

Since the Duchatalet era fans have (rightly) remembered everything that regime ever said and held them accountable to there words and why not when the club was being so badly run. But it seems to have come at a price where sections of the fanbase seem to have been wounded so badly that now people are doing the same to Sandgaard and Adkins holding them accountable to there positivity unless we have 101 points on the board next May.
I know we've been burnt badly in the past but I really do think it's time to stop this Charlton court of law where anybody in power at the club has to be measured against there words said in the right intentions at the time.11 -

It makes me uncomfortable to see Charlton fans holding performance reviews for internal staff in a kangaroo court. Can we not just trust TS to run the business and worry about the football. That's all we said we wanted in the RD era.21 -

The commercial manager has no input into who we sign so that's a red herring.
The "imminent partnership" wasn't a good thing to say IMHO but I'm an under promise, over deliver guy which is probably why I'm not in sales.
My view is that TS and WM are still finding out just what a mess the club was in. Lots of great, committed staff, and TK, but so much damage done, so much left undone, so much neglected by ESI and by Staprix that needs correcting.
And all that in a pandemic and resulting recession meaning many potential sponsors cutting budgets and other clubs offering their shirt deals for a lot less than normal.
If you don't want betting company money, and @Swisdom hinted that we turned down such a deal, I guess there's not a lot out there for a league one club other than your core fan lead companies hence the good news about KW and also Axis.
The shirt sponsorship, hospitality etc lack of responses mentioned by @Athletico Charlton sounds poor but not sure how much that is uncertainty around Covid19.
But Charlton TV was upgraded hugely and that was lead by Mumford.
Personally, I don't think WM is helped by having no CEO on site. It means he's dealing with the 101 mundane but important things rather than purely commercial matters. Things like getting lifts working.
Airman hinted at a bigger deal next season. We shall see what that is.
The Hummel shirt and shop deals also expire summer of '22 as does, I think, the outsourced catering, this is another example of unraveling Meire's mess, although I hope we keep Hummel just for the look of the shirts.19 -
Did the same as was up for it before the game. Bought three seats instead.I went on the website yesterday; clicked.on hospitality packages and it said none available, clicked on tours, it said none available, clicked on pitch side experiences, it said none available, clicked on mascot package, none available. Two weeks.before the season starts, I found it strange0 -
Difficult to understand why the chief operating officer wouldn't be responsible for getting a lift working.
