I wonder what Roddy's wage is compared to an academy player at a similar level.
What has this got to do with anything
Taking money away from the club to give to your son is a pretty big deal no?
Adkins has picked him, not his old man.
He doesn't have many options at left back to be fair!

However Roddy should be nowhere near our first team squad.

Well why haven't we signed one, we all want a certain standard but we're not talking about a top striker or midfield dynamo, I don't believe there aren't LBs out there who could do a decent job & push Purrington (when fit) for a first team place. I think too much emphasis has been placed on the legendary pathway from the u18s u23s through into the first team, which would be great if we had youngsters of a certain standard but it seems we are aiming to play youngsters because they are young & not because they are good enough.

Basing this purely on tonight, and I appreciate that might not be fair, but I don't think Davison is anywhere near good enough to be our back up to Stockley.

In an effort to clear things up, I have messaged Jacob Roddy's girlfriend on Instagram, asking her who Jacob's Dad is.

Am also checking in with Ged Roddy's wife on Facebook.
If she says Nigel Adkins, you have opened up a can of worms.
Maybe she knew NA at Reading

Offside, Charlton Athletic. Sean Clare tries a through ball, but Charles Clayden is caught offside.

I'm so annoyed we are going to be out of this prestigious event.

It's the League Cup. Still a prestigious event for many of us and would like us to do well.
Going back to 1965 when we lost a game against 92nd in the league at home Bradford City we have been crap in this Cup....it is depressing.  Bradford even had a fat keeper called Roly and we could not beat him. This was amazingly a 3rd round game in November.  Aston Villa beat Bradford City 7-0 in the next round.
That would be ex-baker Jim Rollo ... not Roly.

56' Chance! Davison is put through one-on-one, he stings the palms of Tzanev who puts it behind for a corner. #cafc 0 #afcw 1

The finish is shocking though. Can’t be hitting that at that height straight at the keeper.

Brilliant composure and got the shot off well.  There's a player in there even if not at Stockley's level yet.

    Bad time for this game
How on earth us this a bad time for this game? Its the 2nd game of the season & therefore, baring any major injuries, you should have a full strength squad.

The fact that we dont is down to us. Not fixture scheduling or injuries. But because we have failed to strengthen in 3 months.

Did that count as a shot on target?

His pressing when we don’t have the ball isn’t at all good enough

    It's Morgan v Wimbledon.

Just had our first shot on target in 145 minutes of play at valley. with Davidson which resulted in a good shot.

Because we haven’t concluded our business?

I understand you’re frustrated at the way we’re doing it but you have to accept that is the strategy the club are going for.

Be wary yes, but don’t judge them until that window is shut.

I doubt they care about forking out a lot more cash just to get deals over the line for Wimbledon in the cup

How’s Roddy playing? If he’s only in the team because of Ged I’ll be pretty miffed

Agreed on this point.  We get the fixture list the same time as everyone else.  Cup competition is always the second game on Tuesday after the season opener.  Worth getting a competitive squad/ team in place to make a go of it from the off even if it's not the finished article.

He's not good enough imo. League 2 at beat. Certainly not good enough for a promotion chasing side.

He does a whole lot more pressing than Stockley does.
