How about utilising more academy players into the team. As a club the only way we can get someone of value is to produce them ourselves. To try and find a bit of a pathway, we have to accept we might lose a game by trying to do it.
Sometimes we might be a little bit weaker by trying to do it but in the long term we’ll be stronger5 -

Learned nothing from Arter it seems then. Experienced loanees on the whole dont work out.
So Lucas Piazon, Kennedy or Ethan Ampudu type or any Chelsea player currently out on loan.1 -
Experience for a loan signing isn't absolutely necessary, the player just needs to be decent.
2 of our best loan signings in recent years were Gallagher (no experience) and Bielik (very little). Alex Song didn't have a lot of experience when he came to us, but he was also good. I don't think many were looking at Famewo's few games with Luton and Grimsby and thinking 'yes what a signing' when he arrived.4 -
A couple of ideas who might be available . They are not recommendations .
Portsmouth seem to want to offload Marquis .
Doncaster Rovers would be interested in re-signing John Marquis from Portsmouth - The 72
A clickbait site suggesting five names . Cole Stockton Morecombe , Mikael Mandron Crewe , Tom Eaves Hull , Matty Stevens Forest Green Rovers and Dom Telford Newport .
Charlton Athletic comment: 5 strikers the Addicks should look at this month - The 72

I notice Jay Dasilva doesn't feature much for Bristol City.
He would be perfect for a 5 3 2 set up.8 -

I think we need to look at getting a head start on next season, not overly keen on wasting time with loans unless they're of a decent age and with a view to a permanent deal in the summer.
Signing players like Arter, Gunter or Watson who've already been at the top level and have zero motivation to do anything in league one other than collect a wage are not for me. I'd rather we focused on players who want to progress with us.0 -

Keneth Zohore could be worth bringing in on loan with a view to signing. Out of favour big time at West Brom and did not do a lot on loan at Millwall. Must be 6’3” or close and left footed. Needs to play some games at 27. From Denmark by the way 😉1

Obviously he won't get that in his next contract, but i doubt he's going to cut to 5k in league one.0 -

The way I see it now is that we need signings that are players that could contribute next season and we need to assess the players who are out of contract to see if they are worth retaining . Last January we brought in Liam Millar who clearly wouldn't sign on for this season . I wouldn't want that type of loan again .
Someone like Tom Eaves or John Marquis on loan until the end of their contract might be attractive as effectively it would be a six month trial to strikers who are proven at this level for next season .4 -
Not Charlton related really, but Joe Gomez has to leave Liverpool now surely? Matip out with COVID and they're playing Konate alongside VVD, so he's 4th choice centre back now. He would walk into most starting XI's in Europe (providing he's fit)4

I think we need one investment who plays up front and another investment who can play in a creative midfield role, although the investment we have called JFC could be back soon.0

If Jackson thought they a were good enough and ready they would be involved more. Lurker and Brownie were giving Adkins pelters on CATV yesterday for playing Deji.0 -

I, for one, would have him back in a flash to add a different dimension for our up front issue.11 -

I would hope that the younger players TS mentioned are some that have potential to be playing this season and/or next. The likes of DJ whom we picked up when his club needed the money but could come straight in and play, rather than the likes of Clayden who were bought in for U23's and more of a punt.
We do need to finish this season reasonably strongly for three reasons; firstly players in the summer would see that we have a chance of competing and hence it would give us an advantage of sorts in that window; secondly because JJ has a renewal at the end of the season based on finishing position I believe I read and finally because there is almost half the season left and it will be very boring if we play poorly for many of them and put people off renewing tickets.8
