I looked him up on YouTube. Can’t say I have any excitement about seeing him in AEW.

I actually quite liked Marco Stunt. Think they could have done more with him from a story perspective. He fit in more with that tag team than Christian, who seems a bit shoehorned in.

I just find the comedy / quirky characters to be absolutely cringeworthy in wrestling. The Hurricane, Brandon Cutler, Brodus Clay etc. To an extent Orange Cassidy too.

I tend to watch Dynamite with my partner who isn’t a regular wrestling fan, but picks things up and shows an interest. I fear Danhausen might end up being the sort of character who I cringe for and wish I was in the room alone.

I don't mind the comedy if it keeps itself to itself.

What I find annoying about AEWs booking is they infect almost every segment and angle with some sort of idiot doing goffy shit. 

Look how good the segments with Page, Bryan, Punk, MJF are.  Omega selling for Stunt was so cringe.  The lest said about Cutlet the better. 

I don’t mind an underdog once in a while getting the upper hand on a star - that’s what keeps it feeling ‘sport-like’ and unpredictable.

Shane Helms is so good, the gimmick was a sign of how bad WWE creative was at that time. Comedy has it's time and place, like after a long match and before another big time match. Eric Young and R Truth are legit funny and great workers, Santino Marella though, urggh.

I was going to let the hurricane slide, cos he was brilliant.  At first.  When he got his S. H. I. T it went too far. 

There is a quite fundamental basic that I don't think Tony Khan gets (I actually don't think Vince has ever got it either but listened to enough people that did).  People that are mega over can get away with things that 90% of the roster can't.

If the original DX had been the roadie, rockabilly and the 123 kid it would have gone down like a fart in church.  For example. 

The Rock, Austin, OG NWO, the horsemen, punk, MJF, Cena, Heyman and the like can stand in a ring with a microphone and people will lap it up for hours at a time.  The Rock and Mankind can do the I just want to be your friend angle and a goofy this is your life segment because they are mega over.  You can't do the same angle with pockets and the pudding gang and expect the same results.

Tony either doesn't get that or doesn't know the difference between being over with a very small number of die hard fans and actually being over.   You can't book people like goofs then expect everyone to take them seriously 6 months later.  Miro, Cole etc spring to mind.  Bryan let him get away with Page.

Austin "stomping a mud hole", the 5 knuckle shuffle, the leg drop as a finisher, every Jerry Lawler match in menphis since about 1982, the ultimate warrior and Goldberg.  The list is endless. 

Went to watch Smackdown this morning. Smackdown sponsored by Papa John Pizza. Getting trolled by even the WWE now.

Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania are probably the only 2 WWE PPV Events that I try and catch live.

I found it interesting that there was 8 or 9 "surprises" in the women's Rumble, and virtually none in the men's at all, no old legends returning for a pop or anything, the biggest "return" was probably Bad Bunny or Shane McMahon, but they were widely reported as being in the area and in the match anyway.

Surprised they had Lesnar win it after what happened earlier in the night, that would already have been enough of a story to have him wrestle Reigns again at WM, they could have used the winner of the Rumble to go after new champ Lashley, now I feel like Reigns has 2 legitimate opponents and stories in Rollins and Lesnar, and Lashley has nothing.

Up until the Ronda Rousey entry (which I didn't know was happening so was a legitimate surprise), I was bored to tears of the women's rumble match.

For the last few years now it has just been the same old returns. Just roll out the Bella twins, Lita, Kelly Kelly, Molly etc.

Rousey kinda saved it, I guess. 

Men's rumble match - also very boring. Not much on the surprise entry front from what I recall (Lesnar wasn't a surprise), but at least we got Madcap Moss and Bobby Roode and god knows however many jobbers who got zero reaction. I guess it was good to see Shane again. 

It just didn't feel like they put much thought or care into the match. Very paint by numbers. In previous rumbles you might get seeds planted here and there to set up other storylines going into Wrestlemania season. There was just nothing....

Both men's title matches were good. Reigns/Rollins was the match of the night.

My excitement for the Rumble/Wrestlemania is definitely not what it used to be, now that AEW is around with much more watchable content.

Very similar to boxing when they have a huge main event fight on a PPV and the undercard isnt even mentioned. They have the two biggest match headlining Mania; Reigns v Lesnar, Lynch v Rousey. Everything else will be just to fill time for those two matches. 

Can they please retire Shane O Mac. Have zero interest to ever see him again.
