The Brandi Rhodes segment was cringe. She's fit, but should never be allowed to cut a promo EVER0 -

Punk/MJF was superb. Surprised the match went ahead the way it did though. I was expecting some sort of shenanigans to prevent it from going ahead in order to keep it saved for the next PPV.0

They've had a few matches that have had months of build up to be settled on TV. Makes as much sense as having a January show in Cleveland, Ohio called Beach Break.

In the "good old days" your booking would be for a super show in the superdome, msg or the reunion arena, that was carried on through the early PPV with starcade and mania. Since Nitro went on a Monday night, nearly 30 years ago, everything has been hotshotted for a rating.
To very misquote Jim Malone "they bring a table, you bring a flaming one. They have a six man you have an 8 man".
If its furniture, "stipulations", death defying stunts, pyro even wrestling master classes, if you do it everyweek it stops being special.
And who starts a feud with a texas death as the first match live on TV? Probably the same company that started one with a war games match......1 -
The Brian Kendrick revelations are mad. When I first heard about it I thought there was no way he could have been genuine, and still stuck around in WWE for the last 5 years without someone bringing it up.
The bloke is absolutely wild!0 -
Keith Lee debuts, wonder what surprise debut will happen next week, Karion Kross?
As mentioned previously, all these debuts takes the shine off. Hilarious how Christian was built as this massive singing not so long ago!0 -

I don’t have too much issue with debuts like Keith Lee. He’s great in the ring when given time and can add something a bit different.
The debuts that I find a little non-sensical are the ones where they big up someone to come in and it turns out it’s some random guy from NJPW or ROH. We saw it this week with Switchblade Jay.
Am I meant to care about him? I have no idea who he is. I don’t watch other promotions outside of AEW/WWE, as I expect is the case for a lot of the viewership.
On the whole I enjoyed Dynamite this week though.
MJF’s entrance was outstanding 😂0 -
Booker T was asking questions at the UFC 271 post fight press conference!Seems only Adesanya recognised him though. He waved after saying he was a 5 time champion.

We'll see, I think the whole thing is a work and he'll take a few months off, be more in the background of AEW for a while, and be a surprise return towards the end of the year1

I also think it’s likely a work.
AEW has brought about arguably the biggest change to the industry in over 10 years, and he’s been front and centre of it - going back to when it was just a formative idea.
Cant see him just walking away from it already, and then going back to WWE. That would make absolutely no sense at all.0 -
Certainly seems like Austin vs owens at mania is a real possibility.
As much as I love Stone cold, I'm not sure I want to see it1 -
Austin can't bump, it's had no build up. Seems more laughable to me than Cody going to WWE.0

If they need him to shift the tickets can't they hide him in a tag match? All he has to do is stomp a mud hole, do a stunner or two and drink a beer.0 -
Will make Owens look shit.
Talking of shit, how is Goldberg coming out and challenging the world champion still a thing?1 - Sponsored links:

Are WWE totally bereft of ideas?0

Because of happenstance a whole generation of top talent either retired, left or died without making new stars. Even Cena got The Rock rub twice.2 -
Austin’s return is not the sort of thing that should be wasted on Kevin Owens. So just don’t do it at all.
Still wrangles me that HBK’s final match was that shite tag match in Saudi when he could have just left it on the perfect note the way it was.0 -

The problem is with whom and how. Its got to be a big enough "star" to make it semi important. They have got to be over enough that doing the job to a guy in his 50s and hasn't had a match in 20 years doesn't kill them. Austin has got to have 100% trust in them being able to look after him and make him look good.
There is probably only a hand full of people that fit that ctiteria and they all work for AEW.0 -
End of the day, wrestling is a business. A business that receives continuous criticism and it has hit a slump.
If stone colds return injects enthusiasm into the crowd, then it is likely Vince McMahons accountant will inform him the wrestlemania of 2022 made a lot of money via ticket sales, streaming purchases and merchandise, etc, in total.
If fans moan about the return of stone cold, then the WWE can just say....well, maybe take an interest in new fresh faces then. Quit moaning and complaining.
It's a win win for them either way.
He knows wrestling has been on a gradual downward spiral after it peaked in the early 00s. It is now a form of casual light entertainment and they are very very good at keeping the whole thing alive and still running.
The company is making as much money as it can before it will all come to an end. I predict that WWE will be done and dusted in 15-20 years.0 -

Instead people just watch them getting beat by guys that retired 20 years ago.1 -

Despite himself being the biggest drawing heel in history.0 -
Few things here, wrestling isn't in a slump. WWE is making huge money. Reigns is surely a big star as well.
Austin can't bump so will have to win. His opponent will have to be someone who won't get hurt by a loss, similar to Bret V VKM. An Austin return will be a big deal but isn't 'mania selling out before any of the card is announced or is that no longer the case? If he returns expect Saudi Ariba!0
