I know what you mean. Because I assumed the same about the number of islands, I started out with random suggestions from other parts of the World.
And I stuck the same wrong answer twice...

I actually cheated and went to google maps for my 6th go. I couldn’t think of anything it could possibly be and I didn’t think it fair to lose cause of that ridiculous answer

Unbelievable, I was guessing along the lines of French/Norwegian South Atlantic Territories, or any one of the multiple Kergeulen(?) Islands (which the game didn't count as choices). Would never guess the answer.0
