Best thing about today's game was seeing Leaburn.  This was the first time I've seen Miles Leaburn and although it was only Dartford you could see that he was a good player. I think Garner will like that he is different to Stockley, not a central battering ram, despite his height but someone who can go wide and fit to 433.  I'm happy for him to be 4th striker. He looks a much better bet than Davison.

By the comments on here alot to be positive about and a few people have said kirk looked up for it so hopefully his mindset is to show what he can do this season. If he does he will be great in Garners set up imo

    Stockley on two goals already.

    Only 18 to go
Haha! He is on zero.... I did say league goals tbf.

That was a good run out by the lads. Kirk looks like the player I saw at Crewe. Innis and the new CB looked solid. I dont like the keeper 😬 Leaburn taking me back to being a kid love it

    Weird..!

Wonder if they could’ve got around it by playing two 60 minute matches with 30 minute halves?

Should we not have been there for the Sunderland and Doncaster games that went to Extra Time and penalties then?

Wasn’t able to watch, what was our intended style of play like? Obviously fitness is the main aim but a week since Spain was there notable intention of Style?

Kept it down on the floor as much as possible... Wasnt a clear passage of play going forwards, by that I mean in the past it becomes pretty obvious that tactic is to get it wide to CBT and then build from there.

Instead it was very much varied... Fraser largely dictated play in Midfield and was everywhere, either linking up play with Kirk and Egbo to get the ball into the box... The same again with DJ and Ness, and then there were a few occasions where he attacked into the box with the ball himself from more central areas.

Second half, I'd say we went more through Clayden, than we did with Clare, who hung back a lot more as a Full-Back.

Certainly no hoof ball from defence to try and build something from though.

The biggest improvement from Killie, was the fact we didnt try to walk the ball into the net this weekend - I mean we weren't shooting on site, but equally we weren't trying to create the perfect opportunity either... Bit more ruthless almost.

Nothing special, and dont mean that in a bad way... Didnt do anything that would get fans out of their seats (well apart from the goal) - He's not an explosive player like Blackett-Taylor, but kept things neat and tidy whilst linking up with Fraser and Egbo.

Think he put in a couple of decent crosses.

Good news on the injured players - doesn’t sound like any major concerns with any of them.

    Negatives
    1) Getting there 90 minutes before kick off to ensure getting parked
    2) The eternity it took to exit car park even though I had a pint afterwards.
    Positives

A really enjoyable afternoon, very impressed with Leaburn, have we got a second coming cult hero on our hands.
Everyone seemed up for it,Gilbey was very good,Clare caused havoc with his runs Fraser really looked good,so for me,a good workout against mediocre opposition, sterner tests this coming week,

Really disappointed with DJ today. Hid from the ball and made no forward runs. Shockingly lazy.

We looked much more fluid with Chuks up front. Dropping deep, turning, hitting passes like that incredible chip pass to put Leaburn in for his goal.

Sticking to my comment either way. He was bone idle.

Mentioned in the first game, I am not sure where he fits into this Charlton side. Been hear 18 months now and hasn’t really had a settled run in the side in his favourite position. If the season starts tomorrow, he would be behind CBT and Kirk.

Still can’t work out what his strengths are as a player. Davison is a popular one to offload, but DJ is one I would look to move on as don’t feel he suits our style at all. Both wide positions we are lacking in cover, but wouldn’t be confident if he ended up playing 40+ matches.

A little harsh. Was standing right by him first half, he was in space a lot and calling for it. Ness (who for what it’s worth I was impressed by) didn’t use him too often. Choosing to go inside. He had two moments of danger. One he didn’t release and the second he did with a dangerous ball.

Morgan could have played it to him on a few occasions too.

Not saying he was great, but don’t think he was stand out poor.

    Garner out

Too late, Pelling beat you to it out in Spain.

He did seem a bit disinterested, but thought Kirk seemed to be a lot more up for it. Team that finished the second/third halves looked much stronger though Dartford had the versatile "a triallist' in a number of positions. Lavelle and O'Connell seem to click. But the obvious highlight was Miles. There really is some footballer in there.

Hopefully that forces our hand and makes us go and find another Left-Back - Having Sessegnon and Clare as other Right-Back options is good enough, but Sessegnon and Clayden at present on the Left doesnt feel strong enough
Highly doubtful they are actually considering these being the final options at left-back. I'm sure they're bringing in another one.
Don't understand why Sessegnon didn't get 45 minutes instead of playing Egbo out of position again.

If I were picking a team based entirely on performance today it would be:

    MacG
    Clare Inniss O'Connell Clayden
    JFC Henry Fraser
    Leaburn Aneke Kirk

Not quite ready yet according to Garner, almost certain to at least get game time next time out.

Does this mean we have to dig out our "I've seen Leaburn score" shirts  ??

Yeah Dobson didn't overly impress today - But then again with Dartford sitting back, he didn't really have much of a defensive role to play.
