DamoNorthStand said:As a British F1 fan I used to think Monza was bad - but the Tifosi are tame in comparison. Zandvoort is the last race I would go to, and frankly my old favourite Spa seems a lot less appealing now as well.
Could see the Hungarian GP following suit as well in being a bit nasty1 -
Yeah I think Hungary will be very heavily Dutch too. It used to be the Finns that took over there when Kimi was at his peak.0

DamoNorthStand said:A friend of mine is at the Red Bull Ring this weekend and said the behaviour of the Dutch is unlike anything he has ever kni sawown at a GP race. They are all totally shitfaced, and it feels more like being at a 1970s football match than a Formula One event. Tonnes of monkey noises every time Hamilton goes past….. lots of abuse for Leclerc / Sainz as well. He reckons he saw a kid and a dad in Ferrari gear have to leave a stand because they were getting stuff thrown at them by a load of Verstappen supporters. I mean - a fucking kid with his Dad?
That’s not what a race is meant to be about.
I was at Silverstone in the 80s and it was incredibly partisan towards Nige (like Lewis et al now) but not in the least abusive towards likes of Senna or Prost.

Why do I get the feeling Ferrari are gonna fuck this up?3

Verstappen gets overtaken.
Then right on cue, he’s complaining about the car.
Twat.1 -
Orange Army gone quiet today.1

Leclerc now reporting issues with the throttle. Please don’t hand the race to the little brat. Would mean both Hamilton and Russell on the podium though.2
-
oh please not a flukey win for the twat in front of that lot in the stands. Be fecking unbearable0

Have to admit, these last two races at Silverstone and here, have helped the season to come alive a little bit - Few races recently have been as boring as hell4

Every time I see all that wanky shitty Orange smoke……

What was the view on the Perez | Russell incident... Especially after Red Bull got away with a lot last week.0

So Leclerc cuts the gap in the championship to 38 points. Just goes to show why Ferrari should’ve prioritised him over Sainz last week. Had Leclerc won there instead of 4th the gap would be down to 25 points - i.e. one win with a DNF for Verstappen. Instead Verstappen could still lose an entire race weekend of points and come out ahead.1

Penalty didn't really affect his race, but the damage he caused to Perez caused him to retire. I'm not convinced 5 seconds really balances that out to be honest, but there we go. (Same for Gasly, who caused Vettel to end up finishing plum last because of their incident)0 -
I think that he's saying technically because the stewards have tended to be lenient in the past with first lap incidents like that.0

The stewards “determined that car 63 [Russell] was wholly at fault for the incident” after reviewing video footage of the clash. Car 11 [Perez] was passing on the outside at turn four, was at least fully alongside at the entry of the turn and all the way through the manoeuvre, including at the apex of the corner and left sufficient room for car 63, which ultimately struck car 11.“This was not considered as a ‘first lap incident’ as this was a battle between the two cars and was not affected by the pack of cars as can happen during the first lap.”

People always give a lot more lee-way to drivers they like.
It's always happened and does happen in most races.
Works the other way too with drivers they don't like, everyone does it without even meaning to.0 -
Top 3 all summoned to the stewards for a parc ferme breach related to having their physios giving and taking things off then before they were weighed.
This will probably just be fines all round.1 -

I think Russell should have got a penalty just as your golden boy Max should have got a penalty on the countless occasions when he has forced other drivers off the track over the last few years.0 -

Bit of a gap now though and as the season progresses i feel there will come a time when they probably have to favour Leclerc.0 -
