Pompey have signed a keeper on loan from West Brom who was Lincoln's No1 last season, not sure they'd be in for Mac.1

My mistake! Misread the title. Must go to Spec Savers!1 -

He's an adult.
He's a professional footballer.
It's just a number.
Get a grip.
Number one or thirteen is irrelevant.
He's a rubbish goalkeeper either way.3 -

I actually can't remember us having a number 1 keeper as bad as him.
Peter Wakeham .
Tony Laing.
I wasn't impressed by Ben Amos in one stint at the Valley. Nor Jeff Woods really.
Salmon was not over popular.0 -
He needs to knuckle down and win the No1 shirt back, he didn't do enough to state his claim last year, anyone who travelled saw his lack of conviction to claim the ball outside his 6 yard box.
It's not disrespect or the end, it's his time to prove us wrong1 -
He’s going to play most of November and December if Wollacott is called up, he needs to sort his shit out by then if he’s still here.

I don’t think he’s terrible at all but we’ve had quite a few good keepers in recent history and he’s got to be one of the weakest.
Perhaps the difference with GKs is you sometimes have to look for what they’re not doing. I’ve never been concerned a Championship club might come in for him, unlike say Dobson and CBT.
Macca's a decent Third division keeper, capable of some outstanding saves on his day.
But he's only Third division for a reason.
As you say, Garner needs a footballing keeper, as good with his feet and passing ability as he is with his hands. That's not really Macca's game.
Wollacott has already proven his worth to Garner at Swindon.0 -
Never effected Sweaty when he lost the number 5 shirt…

It's not disrespect or the end, it's his time to prove us wrongStrange if he throws his toys out the pram because he’s not no1 choice. Any of the players left from last season bar maybe Dobson can look back with any pride in the job they did. They finished 13th in League one - that’s hardly untouchable form3 -
Mac made some great saves last year, but I don't like his style and he never inspired me with confidence.
Was hoping he would be replaced, I just hope Wooly is up to the task.1 -

Really do not rate McG at all. Extremely ordinary L1 keeper and totally powderpuff claiming balls in his area. AMB seems very injury prone which is a concern.
Leaves Wollacott (no idea) and Harness (no idea).
Kone coming through the ranks may get a chance sooner than usual for a keeper!0 -
This sums up Mac's season for me

Ghana fixtures are 24th nov til 2nd Dec, guess he will miss port Vale on 19th Nov and Cheltenham on 3rd Dec. Ghana aren't getting out of a group with Portugal and Uraguay in1

Port Vale and Cheltenham games he will miss (I actually thought the Port Vale game was the last day of Premier League games, hence why I thought he may miss a maximum of one game), whilst the latter is the day after Ghana play Uruguay
Morecambe game is debatable, I'd be surprised if Ghana get out of the group, and he'll have a week to get back to England - Which is a larger gap than what players get when returning from International Duty during the Qualifier breaks etc... Reckon that one will depend on form, and recent results.
He'll also miss the FA Cup 2nd Round, as thats the 26th Nov - But fully expect Macca to be playing in the Cup anyway.1 -

You're right though, could only be the 2. Unless they qualify of course, looks unlikely mind.1 -

I'd have Amos all day long. Although I did recognise this as soon as the season started and didn't rate him after the first few games.2 -

Two league appearances, conceded 6 goals. Doesn't bode well with Wollacott out of action for a while...1
