EFL Trophy @Dazzler21 against Barnet if you're talking about Tamer Tuna1

I know we're missing Connor but he's not in the NI Nations League squad, to 'manage his body' and is having regular injections for ongoing issues. Perhaps the club we're aware of all this when not offering a new contract?0

I think you’ll find they were unaware otherwise they’d have signed him!!!!!Ferryman said:I know we're missing Connor but he's not in the NI Nations League squad, to 'manage his body' and is having regular injections for ongoing issues. As it's goals we need, it's Richard Wood we should have re-signed! An assist this week to go with his 4 goals so far this season1

Is that genuinely Garner's response or a sarcastic wind up outlining exactly what a key starter in a team one point of the championship playoffs does week in week out?Callumcafc said:
Hopefully the latter surely.0 -
I'm guessing they never did make that list of 20 strikers because we got to deadline day and only had Macauley Bonne2

Washington and/or Bonne would improve this squad of players. People turning their noses up at Bonne on deadline day was a very strange reaction given what we had.Chunes said:I'm guessing they never did make that list of 20 strikers because we got to deadline day and only had Macauley Bonne6 -
Bonne is rubbish. But yes, he still would've been better than nothing, which is what we ended up with.se9addick said:

oh absolutely, I’m not saying he’s amazing and he certainly wouldn’t have been anywhere near the top of my list. But I was astonished at how negative the reaction was given how poor we are in that department.Chunes said:

And therein lies the issue.Chunes said:I'm guessing they never did make that list of 20 strikers because we got to deadline day and only had Macauley Bonne
I've still not got much of an issue in letting Washington go, not getting someone better in instead was the gigantic mistake.3 -
We made a list of 20... The problem is the list was:Chunes said:I'm guessing they never did make that list of 20 strikers because we got to deadline day and only had Macauley Bonne
Haaland, Kane, Mbappe, Lewandowski, Jesus, Ben Yedder, Nunez, João Felix, Martinez, Lukaku, Benzema, Immobile, Haller, Correa, Vlahovic, Aspas, Silva, Depay, Bonne6 -
Yeah but who was the 20th? Can’t leave us in suspense like thatsam3110 said:

Would kill for someone like Washington back in the side.
I think we need to look at going back to 4-4-2 or 3-5-20 -

I think the reality of the situation was that as Sandgaard had identified Washington's agent as the snitch (telling players Jacko was getting the sack), you and I would be on a list of 1000s before he went for Washington.1

Well we got Immobile...sam3110 said:

How many of those thousands did we actually try to sign though? The rumour mill regarding strikers seemed very quiet over the summer. As an outsider looking in it seems to me we weren’t really interested in signing another out and out striker. Garner only needs one for his preferred (only?) system and we already had Stockley, Aneke and Leaburn on the books. Then, after the season had started, there was a mild panic once it became clear that a big miscalculation had been made - especially as Aneke is never really going to play a meaningful role it seems. That’s when we resorted to a desperate attempt to get a mediocre striker in on loan (Bonne) and weren’t even successful in that attempt.bolloxbolder said:I think the reality of the situation was that as Sandgaard had identified Washington's agent as the snitch (telling players Jacko was getting the sack), you and I would be on a list of 1000s before he went for Washington.2 -

1 goal in his last 33 championship games. 14 in 119 at that level across his career, compared to 49 in 153 at league 1 level.

Better than Lyle Taylor's at Prem level. Then again the snake hasn't set foot on the Forest pitch yet this season.Todds_right_hook said:1 goal in his last 33 championship games. 14 in 119 at that level across his career, compared to 49 in 153 at league 1 level.0 -

You can take the boy out of Charlton, but you can't take the Charlton out of the boy.Chunes said:
If that had been at Fratton Park, he'd have backheeled it into the goal

Not sure why he is looking surprised. He did that in a game for us to snatch the last minute winner and belted into the side netting, as if you get a prize for hitting it so hard.0
