Sandgaard ownership discussion 2022-3 onwards (Meeting with CAST p138)

bought our season tickets at the early not quite so high price so the match to match ticket prices don't currently affect us
certainly wouldn't go very often at £32 per match, rarely if at all for Tuesday evening games
first few games bought programs and an occasional burger or box of chips - prices daft but only what's expected at entertainment venues
then came the news of bullying being ignored by senior management
then came news of "redundancies" of well known, well liked staff
relentless stream of emails hoping to flog us hospitality and streaming for every fixture only succeeds in telling us they're not selling much of that at all
then we are told a crock of shit about the summer transfer "business" 

we've decided this regime won't be getting another penny of revenue unless and until the quality and integrity of senior management is restored

If revenue from match attending fans is such an important source they've succeeded in fucking that right up 

the high handed idiocy is almost on Meire/Douchebag levels

last but by no means least the current squad's performances are prompting more discussion on whether to attend at all

our 4 have a cumulative 120+ years of regular Charlton attendance which is in danger of withering away very quickly indeed
treating us as ungrateful, clueless mugs is the exact opposite of what's required

no football club is financialy worth it. Wealthy owners taken them on as a challenge and for the kudos of successes.
People will point at the Glazers, but they bought Man U by loading the debit accrued for buying the club on the club. in its self ManU 
would be in trouble if the debits were not a moderatly friendly ones if you consider the interest payments friendly.

It's only worth it if you can buy a championship (or lower) club, get it to the PL and keep it there whilst at the same time not spending the earth.

No idea what Matthew Benham paid for Brentford but i'm sure if he sold them tomorrow he'd make a very nice profit.

I think we'd all like him to succeed Doucher, nobody on here can shout 'told you so' and I still and always will believe he's a decent man who didn't realise the depth of the problems that running a club like Charlton in the third division actually entails. I'm still hoping that a scenario may exist where TS can attract other wealthy individuals on to the board, I say may but that is made more difficult by the ownership of the Valley and Sparrows Lane by Dutchelet.

Genuinely don't understand why you would take over a football club and then decide those running it don't need to have a background in football. Never been sure what the masterplan of TS is apart from hoping for the best?

Can't see this ending well with him as the owner.

I believe that is less of a problem than it was.  I don't believe Roland is running the day to day business of, well his business, any more.

Does that mean that whoever is running his business would now accept what The Valley and Sparrows Lane are actually worth, as opposed to what Roland wanted them to be worth?

I’m sure there are some accountancy tricks, but at some point this is going to be an issue for his heirs. The nominal Belgian tax rate for any part of his estate over €125,000 is 65%. I don’t know how his holding company would be valued, as it’s not public, but I don’t think his heirs would be too happy at being asked to fork out about €30m in taxes for something that worth less than half that.

yep gotta agree - although in reality I'm almost past the point of caring anymore, got far more important things going on in my life, football is definitely down the list of priorities now

I realised Tuesday that I actually didn't care whether I went or not, I did go but had no real enthusiasm for it at all

 Felt the exact same tuesday night, and i really feel the empty ground played aassive part in it. Had a ST and done 10+ aways pretty much every season, but just going on Tuesday felt like a chore.

Made a deal with myself at the start of the season to only do away matches that are a direct train from London, but I'm starting to think about whether I can even be bothered with that.

Its never a chore doing the away games.
Although I do question my sanity when I know theres no chance of us going up this season.

That’s the worst part - it’s September and I have no delusions of promotion at all. That’s a ridiculous and depressing situation to be in.
