Most exciting (mini) race of the season!  Great for George.  Loved seeing Gerge and Lewis together after the race.  And Stroll...what a tosser...!

Only good thing about Stroll, was the prospect of seeing him do that to Alonso next season, especially with Nando whinging about Ocon.

Hamilton has been great post race, coming across like a proud Dad

Honestly if Stroll wasn't the team owners son , I'd be seriously thinking about dropping him for Drugovich.

Give it a year, and Drugovich will probably replace Alonso who'll get pissed off at the Stroll's and finally piss off and retire

Perez is a big threat to Russell
  • Have to say I think that’s on Lewis

Looks like Mercedes have decided the best way to win a race this season is to punt everyone else off the circuit that could challenge them. Both McLaren drivers also seemingly deciding today is National Dodgem Day
  • Perez is a big threat to Russell
Dunno - It'll be a fascinating battle, as have found Perez to be the least impressive of the four drivers from Merc and Red Bull

Have to say I think that’s on Lewis
Yeah needs to leave more room - But havent seen that sort of rash move from Verstappen all season, he has no sense when battling Lewis

Wow... Max has a 5sec penalty - Dont agree with that
  • Wow wasn’t expecting that - think it’s harsh on Max. Oh well - considering he’s a front runner for the inaugural Patel Cnut of the Year award in my life I’m not complaining
  • Have to say I think that’s on Lewis
Looked like max was ahead T1 but Lewis ahead T2 so can see both points of view

I was surprised even Sky we’re saying Lewis was at fault though

    Never his fault.

5 Seconds to Verstappen for existing in the same area as Lewis.

5 seconds for Max, I don't see how they've come to that conclusion, it's either a racing incident or 5 seconds for Hamilton, they constantly talk about leaving space and being fully ahead, and Hamilton neither left the room or was far ahead enough to expect Max to yield

Yeah because Verstappen is an angel when it comes to racing
  • Imagine Verstappen has got the penalty because he forgets to turn again, and basically pushes Hamilton off the track by running wide

50/50 in my view, penalty a bit harsh on Verstappen but not shedding any tears for him.

No he didn't, he's literally turning right the entire time, and the contact was before/on the apex, so how on earth has Max pushed Hamilton off?! Nonsense

So how did they both end up right on the left of the track, with Perez going through on the right? - Both went off the racing line... I mean its clear from this

Because once they make contact they both lose traction, and therefore run out wide? It's Physics, neither went off the racing line during the incident, only once they collided did they end up running out over the outside of the corner

Fair point - I'm just trying to understand how Max has got the penalty

That photo is like 1 or 2 seconds AFTER the incident, it literally shows nothing

He got the penalty because the stewards determined the corner was entirely Hamilton's and therefore they've put the onus on Max to yield to him, whereas I (and Brundle and many on here feel) that actually the move wasn't completed and therefore space should be given to both drivers
