Going but not really looking forward to it. I just don't want us to be embarassed.
I don't care about the result (well not overly). The chance to sing too fast and out of time for 90 minutes with an away following of 9,000 fellow inmates is what I'm looking forward to the most.

Ha! l was going to pipe up that the rare occasion we take 3k away we seem to find it impossible to sing in unison (or even the same song at the same time), so 9k odd should be a laugh!
40,000 at Wembley kept reasonable time - but then again I freely admit I was very, very drunk.

Had the drum at Wembley which helps a lot with that. Not sure if Old Trafford will allow it in as some grounds are a bit funny about it I think
Drummer lads have asked but not sure if they've got an answer yet

So looking forward to this . 41/2 hours in the car there and same to get back. Won’t drink of course but not bothered. It certainly isn’t the expectation of a win or draw ; it’s all that being together with Charlton fans singing loud and proud at Old Trafford that is so enticing. Remember the time before last at Fulham when we had all of the away end (about 7000 ) Think we got beat 4-0 but it didn’t matter. Least not to me. We got thoroughly outplayed but no, it was about placing my flag…our flag and giving a good account of ourselves as a club not just as fans. Let’s all do this club proud.
We’re gonna win on penalties John.

It’s what we do. Absolute epic scenes in the away end come 10pm next Tues.

Ness has got Rashford in his pocket.

When logged in open the drop down for your profile and click on tickets. It will say it by there. Don't know how quickly this is updated after purchase though.

Would rather we didn't bring a drum, helps with at atmosphere when you bring 1k to Stevenage but don't need it when there's 9k of you at OT

Does give you half a chance of all singing the same song though.

5.5k at Sheff U in the cup and the atmosphere was crap (before we conceded) as it was just little pockets rather than the entire away end in unison.

You don't need it full stop.
It prevents singing & if you want to sing you're pretty much limited to the drummer's choice.

Yeah but I think it didn’t help with what was going on off the pitch and Yann not playing. Yet I do think a drum will make it better

It wasn't an issue in 94. I remember at half time the whole away section singing this song bouncing up and down.
I'd love it if we could recreate it again on Tuesday.

Don’t agree. I think the drummer really helps.
  • tried to buy tickets but it will only let me collect from the valley, not gonna make it from Stoke to London before the match :(

Ring the office and tell them your pick up from ot
  • I really hope the drummers are there at OT. I think on big nights the drummers have played a massive part in calvanising the Covered End & at Away games
talking about 94 “things can only get better” I remember Ipswich 81 Joe Dolce “Shut uppa ya Face’ & Sheffield Utd SCP last game   ‘Goodbye Horse’ being sung would love to hear 9.5K Addicks sing that at OT on Tues night

I know both Manchester United and Tottenham play
'Glory Glory Man United......and the reds go marching on'
    Maybe ours would be

    'Ashley Ashley
    Maynard Brewer

    Ashley Ashley

    Charlton's number ONE''

That was a brilliant half time. Schmeichel sent off and we were all dreaming.  Second half kicked off and Mark Hughes scored almost straight away 🤦🏻‍♂️😉

Going to set up the projector at home for this now as can't get childcare in the evening or off work after agreeing to go into the office on the Tuesday after seeing I'd missed tickets.

I really hate my hastiness to respond to managers (at both work and home) at times.
How are you streaming the game mate? I’m out of the country so need a way to watch.

yes -sone mock the drum but it’s vital for big all seater stadiums
  • Still got no seat detail son ticket on site, it just says "terrace ticket". Will that update or just wait until it hits my letterbox? I see loads of you have seat numbers and i havent a clue!!!

Whatever our views on the drummer it would be great if we could have some of the old songs for once.

Oh it's a grand old team to play for
It's a grand old team to see
And if you know your history...
  • Wonder how many sold from the 2k extra allocation?

    Tickets still available

Enjoy your day out Addicks. Proud of every one of you going.

    1. No "Operation" bollox.
    2. No "let's all wear black" nonsense.
    3. No "no one likes us" shit.
    And
    4. Leave the fucking drum at home, it's football not a college football final in the U S of A.

We may be shit, have crap owners, be just about to be fleeced by new crap owners, be awaiting fuck all in the transfer window, BUT we are Addicks!

"Oh, shit rolling in from the Thames..."

The local sorting office didn't know they were my tickets (thank god)
