I wonder if each ‘transaction’ in the collection queue will only take 30 seconds. I will have to show ID, and then open the envelope to ensure it has match, coach and car park ticket all there. If anybody encounters a problem there will be a hold up. I really hope they have a bit of a think and arrange collection tomorrow as well. Could be from the normal window’s couldn’t it?
I presume tomorrow will already be a busy day getting everything arranged for the hordes that will descend on Saturday. If they open for a few hours tomorrow then that preparatory work needs to take place today.
The day that they should have opened up for at least a few hours is Sunday. They would already be set up after Saturday and, as it’s a weekend, not as disruptive as having to come down on a working day.
I think for the majority the main bottleneck will literally be the staff member thumbing through the envelopes to get to your name. As I mentioned earlier that could take a while if you happen to have a surname that starts with a common letter like 's'. Unless they've broken down the larger letters into second letter order.
Unfortunately there will be an element of human error, ie wrong tickets put in the wrong envelopes etc, and that will then require a degree of firefighting from the staff which is another bottleneck. We can only hope that is kept at a minimum.
At the end of the day there are very few FT ticket office staff these days. The majority you see on match days working at the windows are casual staff, mostly consisting of young friends/relatives of the full timers, and that comes with its own issues with regards to training/knowledge/procedures.
They are going to have to open up on Sunday surely. Stop people panicking. Staff might want a bit of extra cash.
p.s. i haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but is it likely that it will be on Charlton TV or will that not be allowed?
I don’t think the League Cup matches are allowed to be on Charlton TV due to rights issues (even though the match isn’t actually live on TV here in the UK!)
Do we know if the envelopes will be properly sealed or will they just use the tucking in method? I estimate a three second time difference between the two, resulting in over an hour and a half delay when applied to all collections.

Most people will take the envelope and leave the window. I don’t think you should consider yourself a typical “customer”, Seth.
If you take the envelope away and then find it is incomplete you will have to join the queue again won’t you?
Check before you leave the counter. No difference when getting change from a shop or cash from a bank.

Mine just arrived, didn't even have an envelope, just a stamp stuck to the tickets.
I find it weird how they stagger stuff, could have just posted yesterday that they will be available at 9am. Possibly all sold out by now and just concentrate on posting them.
Anyway, nearly 10k away midweek, will be a great effort 👌

I understand that under the competition rules that is not possible. Though I believe I heard that the semi finals will be televised. So you’ll be able to watch us then.🙄🙄🙄
Charlton fans sure know how to mobilise, never fails to impress me how this little club of ours can get numbers behind them,9k + to old trafford, 40k to wembley etc. Just shows the potential of CAFC if someone comes in and runs the club properly and with ambition.
Is it little? Really? The size of a club is not only based on current performance and position, but also stadium, history and potential.
The younger generation may think it's a little club but this and 26/05/19 should make them realise otherwise.
