Still some cheap options - If they don't mind a slower journey - bring some beers on the train (no buffet) - having a look they can get the 10.46 to Crewe for £13 or the 13.46 for £19.20.
It's then £6.50 for the faster train into Manc. Whole thing takes about an hour and 20 longer than direct - but it's bloody cheap.

Identical route back next day will be the same sort of prices.

Done mine last night 3 of us 10.53 out 1220 back next day £75 each

I don't care about the result (well not overly). The chance to sing too fast and out of time for 90 minutes with an away following of 9,000 fellow inmates is what I'm looking forward to the most.

Ha! l was going to pipe up that the rare occasion we take 3k away we seem to find it impossible to sing in unison (or even the same song at the same time), so 9k odd should be a laugh!

It wasn't an issue in 94. I remember at half time the whole away section singing this song bouncing up and down.
I'd love it if we could recreate it again on Tuesday. 

Actually thought the atmosphere in '94 was crap considering the numbers. Think the “things can only get better” was so good because everyone knew the song.(other than a football song) There were a huge number sitting on their hands, a group of us turned around to urge people to sing up & they looked at us as if we were mad.

It's amazing how people's memories differ. I thought it was a great atmosphere and many United fan's said we were the best away fans the'yd seen in a few seasons. 

In fairness there were 10k of us in what was (i think) about a 45k crowd in those days. Old Trafford was much smaller then than it is now.

But if i remember rightly the atmosphere was good up to and especially including half time, but with 10 men they came out and scored practically from the restart and we were never in it after that, so the atmosphere from us died off.

55k capacity then, rose to 68k in '98.

Attendance in 94 was 44,347 and i'm sure it was sold out so can't have been 55k.
