Bielsa was taking Leeds down until they sacked him.
They also would still be stuck midtable in the Championship without him joining.
Didn't they get in the play offs the year before they got promoted

Edit. With bielsa as their manager
  • I do not know where Everton go from here, apart from a race to the bottom.
i understand that  they have had losses of over 100m for each of the last three seasons. How was that allowed to happen.
They now have a brand new stadium awaiting them, possibly in the championship. That could be a massive millstone around their neck.
    Scary times for the Toffees.

  • Steven Gerrard doesn't get the Poland job which he had been linked with. It goes to Fernando Santos instead
  • Everton's squad is very un-Bielsa-y at the moment!!
And Bielsa doesn't seem to me the type of manager who can come in midseason, and turn things around to play in his style instantly. He had the whole of preseason with Leeds when he took over
Exactly, it could take weeks to get used to the style he wants to play and they definitely don't have time on their side.

In their predicament they need someone who can come in and grind out some quick results.
  • I see Big Sam is mentioned on BBC Sport rumours page.

    Big Sam?
  • Bielsa has had initial talks with Everton but has told them their squad is "too slow" and that he would want pace options added to their squad in the remainder of the January transfer window.
  • Forest Green sack Ian Birchnall. He was last seen heading for an all you can eat Brazilian churrascaria steakhouse

    Yeah thats the fella :D

Knew I should have checked... Had a feeling he was maybe elsewhere, but my gut thought he was still unemployed.

Would Forest Green be a gig for Garner?

He still lives in the west country.
they need a manager with the Houdini touch to get them out of their current mess
  • Duncan Ferguson set to land the Forest Green job
  • Good motivation for the vegan players, lose this and you'll have to eat a burger.
  • Duncan Ferguson set to land the Forest Green job
I'll be interested to see how he does because I've always tbought he could be a decent manager.

Ally McCoist made me laugh on Talksport this morning when he said it'll be weird seeing Big Dunc in charge of a Vegan football club when he's the kind of guy you would feed raw meat to in the dressing room before a game!!
He'll have to settle for raw falafels instead
  • Duncan Ferguson set to land the Forest Green job

Forest Green Rovers - recognised by FIFA and the United Nations as the “world’s greenest football club” has today confirmed the appointment of Duncan Ferguson as its new Head Coach.

The former Everton striker and Scottish international joins the club with immediate effect.

    Kolo Toure sacked by Wigan

    9 games in charge

    0 wins
    3 draws
    6 defeats

  • Absolutely serves them right for one of the most disgraceful sackings of the last few years. Leam Richardson worked wonders with them, players loved playing under him and they were competing in the championship whilst fully understandably battling it out near the bottom and they’ve just pulled the trigger and gone for a style of play that was never suitable for the players they had.

They deserve relegation and I am pretty sure that’s exactly what they’ll get come May.
  • Bonkers to get rid of Richardson, but then to dump Toure after 9 games just shows that the owners don't know what they're doing
  • He can’t complain he wasn’t given a chance …
  • Dyche looks set for the Everton job. A far better option than Bielsa in a relegation battle in my opinion
  • Scoring goals has been their major problem, but let's see eh
  • The Wigan entourage is connected to us in some way apparently.
At least Tuesday is only four days away and some reality will hit home for us.
  • Cardiff City have appointed former Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi as their third manager of the season.

Lamouchi, 51, will be joined at the Cardiff City Stadium by ex-Bluebirds defender Sol Bamba, who will assist his former Ivory Coast national team manager.

I think Dyche will keep them up, which is a shame cos I’d love to see them go down.

Did well at Forest, but Cardiff is a tough job, especially with their transfer embargo

In  the least surprising sacking ever, Jim Goodwin has left Aberdeen after a 6-0 defeat to Hibs. This follows a cup defeat to 6th tier Darvel, and a 5-0 defeat to Hearts
