my major gripe was what was payne doing with that second tackle? he knew he was on a yellow then he does that shit. no excuse.
This is bait, right? I um I uh I guess I've taken it already. Damn
watch their second goal back then work out if its bait...
  • Blimey made hard work of that!

Ironic, given that I was one of MacGillivray's biggest critics and am one of Maynard-Brewer's biggest fans, that it was M-B who made an absolute howler coming out for a high ball!

We have just got to sign Hector. He brings such a calm assurance to our defence (last few minutes excepted today!) and even makes Inniss look a lot more accomplished. In fact, a back four of Egbo, Inniss, hector and Thomas is quite a unit and won't be bullied by too many teams.

Feel sorry for Payne. He has been named in the team (or as sub) for every one of our games this year - even the PJT ones. Shame he won't get to keep his run going, particularly as I'm not sure the first tackle he got booked for was a foul.

And finally, what a talent young Rak-Sakyi is. If you haven't seen the first goal, go and watch it. This lad could clearly go all the way and I'm beginning to think that if Zaha does leave Palace this year, R-S may well find himself in their squad, let alone loaned to a Championship team. What a shame we've wasted in all honesty the year he has been on loan to us.

A collective failure to deal with a corner is a player's entire performance being 'awful' now is it? You just want to blame Inniss for the goal. Well, nah. He had a storming game, looked dominant and assured, and we won. You're not having this one

The question asked on match thread, what was the attendance, 12,788 including 222 away fans
I have come to the conclusion there are lies, downright lies and published Charlton attendances.

I think you've just summed up why we've been so bad. The fact Payne has been involved in every game and still can't command a starting place despite the shite season we've had , kinda sums us up.

    Unfortunately he offers very little.

They do indeed. The problem is I personally don’t think Inniss and A.Nother are a decent combination - unless that A.Nother is close to Hectors quality.

So if we lose Hector at the end of the season, which to be honest I think we will to a championship club, we are going find it hard to replace him.

I mean, people will spout anything after a match is something I'm realising. It won't have anything to do with the game. 'Inniss was awful' after he plays like prime Nemanja Vidic. 'Our defence didn't get the ball to our midfield' after our starting midfield ran the game. We should and could have won that by 3 or 4 goals given how we played. And yet, out come the hobbyhorses. Albie Morgan next, c'mon, might as well

I forgot to take a half point off JRS in the player marks for giving us the most pathetic tunnel jump I've seen!

No I don't know it. I genuinely worry for your ability to even understand what football is if you thought he was 'awful' today. Fortunately it seems like most people are with me on this

thing is I didn't think he was awful, i was wrong with that assessment. i thought he was average with mistakes waiting to happen like most of his performances.

    Who's he playing for? 😏

Hector and Rak-Sakyi equally important today.  Rak-Sakyi irreplaceable though.
Ah, but he has to be because 100% guarantee he wont be here next season. If we dont replace him with something similar  then top 6 will be out of our grasp.

May I suggest you take a gander at the players marks thread.
Got a lot of 7’s and 8’s……and two or three 6’s so far.
Your assessment is woefully inaccurate! 🙄

What a goal that first goal was and what a player, definitely my player of the season and one of the only good things about this season has been watching him play.

The match told us 3 things.

We need to keep hold of Hector
There is at least 1 good ref in L1
Payne should keep walking back to Swindon.

It was a good game, that we should have had sewn up in the first half after some  impressive play and the one man show from JRS with another contender for goal of the season which I feel was his best so far.
Once again, we gifted another team a way back into a match, not once but twice, and in the end were hanging on for the three points that took us into what I feel will be our finishing position come May 7th, 10th.
Pleased for Bonne, getting his goal, and he had some good hold up play, so onto next week we go, and a game I am really looking forward to against Ipswich, who will finish top two, if not champions this year, should be very entertaining, win, lose or draw, preferably the former of course...👍

We should never have signed him if we were serious about going up.  As a result and because we’re a fairly tolerant bunch, we have discussions about how much of a shame it’s been for him or how he was under Garner versus Holden.  It’s not just him.  We’re still having the same debate about Inniss, Morgan, Terrell Thomas has come into the starting XI recently, yet this was a guy released by Crewe last season.

I think these players are hard working and try their best, it’s just that because we’ve been so poor, they get a look in, when in reality, I’m not sure who of Ipswich, Plymouth and Sheff Wed would even want them as squad players.

There are a couple of players we should keep for next season, but even the likes of Fraser has question marks above him.  Aside from Leaburn, Dobson, JRS we can’t say for certain any of the rest have it in them.

People still using end of season summer friendlies to think that this squad would challenge for anything other than League One midtable are misguided.

Good result but shows that outside of 3/4 players we are still mostly average.
