Anyone else doing the London Landmarks this weekend ?0 -
I've mentioned Gina at Plumstead Runners on here before but she's appearing in the new promo for the London Marathon...
https://youtu.be/DsCzxuZZMDg
Still running marathons in her mid 70s and she's run every London Marathon apart from the very first one which went past the end of the road which when she went to watch inspired her to run it the year after.2 -
She must have raised an absolute fortune for charity! No other way she could have done all those in the ballot.. Great effort.0

This article about her was published not long ago https://www.runnersworld.com/uk/training/motivation/a41858365/gina-little/
The GFA qualifying time in her age group is 6hr 20 now. She's almost 2hrs UNDER that lol.

Thanks Kigelia. Yeah being in London with no cars is special, even as spectator. Would be a good morning to go uptown and have a wander.
I sneaked into the back of wave 2, got around in 1hr38 which is a PB for me - and 37 minutes faster than Easter 2021!
I might have to look into North Downs nowI have a slight chip on my shoulder after having to walk lots if its ending last year.

For me, MH PR didn't happen, but I did force myself out later and ran five miles whilst we were wracking up the goals at the Valley. I can't promise to do that every week though!0 -

Brockwell Park for me today for a change.Blooming lovely morning for it and a nice course but too hilly for me to do again. When I say too hilly, I mean none are huge but psychologically I can’t deal with seeing inclines and moving my legs at the same time….2

I’ve no intention of doing 10k at my age let alone half marathons. However I have done a few 7k+ training runs over the last few weeks resulting in a Shorne PB a week ago and another, by 59 seconds, on Saturday. Mrs Hex has higher ambitions and quite regularly enters 10k events but I won’t be tempted.3

I have fallen back in love with running. Have a 10k soon and a half marathon in June. Am enjoying training and park runs (did my fastest in a while at Shorne this week 23.13).6

I did Maidstone today. It's a really nice, quick route along the Medway and back, plus farm animals in Kent Life at the end.
More importantly we all have a new Parkrun to tick off in Woolwich, unless anyone in the know did it today?

https://www.parkrun.org.uk/thamespathwoolwich/course/Results not in yet, but they had a very low-key start with about 130 people. It's quite a fast out and back course but includes a run up and down the spiral in Gallions Reach Park in Thamesmead. It's going to be *very* popular, but I'm glad they were able to keep it quiet so they didn't get swamped. Next weekend might be different!
Been out and about over the past few weeks - have ticked off Hackney Marshes (which is great) and Orpington (very cross-country in parts).2 -
Enjoyable trot round Avery Hill this morning, my first for nearly 3 months. Good to have a chat with @WSS
be interesting to see the impact of the Woolwich one. 4 Parkruns in one borough feels excessive, suspect it will probably dilute Charlton the most.0 -

If you include Victoria Dock and Beckton across the water, there's now quite a cluster of parkruns in that area.Keeping up volunteer numbers will be the bigger challenge.1 -
I've got used to being the first at Charlton in the 70-74 age bracket.
Pleasantly smug.
Some bloke beat my time by more than 2 minutes this morning.
Demoralising. Hope he's a tourist.7 -
Prague Marathon tomorrow. Think it's going to take a long time.2

You’re safe, he’s a tourist. A 306 Parkrun veteran and club runner.
looking at the results I had friends just in front and just behind you. Must pop over to Charlton sometime1 -
Perfect morning for running. Managed to chip 40 secs off last week so pleased with that. Going in the right direction11

Was expecting it to be warm but was overcast and a bit chilly, which is perfect for running. Also managed to knock over a minute off last week... 28.06 which I'm happy with but feel like I could have done better had I gone for it at the end... Got stuck behind two women who weren't even slightly out of breath, one moaning about her love life to the other. Reckon if I hadn't been listening I could have got under 28 mins easily!3

Agreed about the weather. I set a PB at Sutcliffe (20:33) so have finally rid Strava of my dodgy GPS PB from last summer.
440 or so people at Woolwich today, I think we'll try there next week and use the Tesco as a base. I don't believe there any any loos near the start(?)4
