            218-9 off 44 and needing 70 off 6 overs1
 -
Final wicket to Stewart and Essex 227 all out. Kent win by 60 runs which certainly didn't look likely when we were 218-8. Great result.

Unfortunately Middlesex couldn't see off Lancashire for us so behind on NRR with Lancashire to play Notts next up1
 -
Interestingly, we are still ahead of Lancs - do wins come before NRR?0
 -
19 year old Tommy Ealham, the younger son of Mark and one of Alan's grandsons, has been given a short term contract by Surrey in order to be able to play for them in the Metro Bank0

How many teams go through, as we have no chance of getting higher than 3rd?0
 -

My understanding, based on last year, is three. Top ones in each group go straight into the semis, then the respective 2nds plays 3rds in each group to determine the other semi-finalists. So we have to beat Hants as the winner of Lancs v Notts will go above us if we lose and Hants have a vested interest in winning the game in order to come top of the group.killerandflash said:How many teams go through, as we have no chance of getting higher than 3rd?1 -

Last year we did it the hard way didn't we? Gaining some momentum which took us all the way.Addick Addict said:

I can't see us beating Hampshire. Unfortunately the weather looks good, as the best scenario would be for rain to wash out both games
                        1 -
According to The Kent Facebook page . Kent are below Lancs the table is wrong . The only way we can qualify is to beat Hampshire and Lancashire have to loose0
 -

The BBC had the table wrong and have now changed it - we are below Lancs on NRR so we don't now want Fanny to put her dancing shoes on and we can only qualify, as Walshiesfoot indicates, if we beat Hants and Notts defeat Lancs.killerandflash said:

DBD back for tomorrow's big game. Not sure who he will come in for unless we opt to rest Jaydn or go in with just two seamers

When I first saw this in an email from Kent, I thought wow, I know Jayden is still at school but I didn't realise how young!5 -
It's when you read Joe on social media talking about how he used to babysit and have to change Jaydn's nappies that you come to realise how old Joe young Jaydn really is.1

It really is totally ridiculous that someone like our former keeper/batsman, Ollie Robinson, despite the amended rules and being fully fit can sit around for four weeks at the height of the summer, as he has done so to date, unable to get a game of cricket anywhere. We had that with Leaning last year and he is our top scorer this season.4

Apart from the women's game being on before, which could happen in the Blast, the whole situation is ridiculous (polite word)Addick Addict said:It really is totally ridiculous that someone like our former keeper/batsman, Ollie Robinson, despite the amended rules and being fully fit can sit around for four weeks at the height of the summer, as he has done so to date, unable to get a game of cricket anywhere. It's confusing why Durham haven't asked for him back, like we've done with DBD. For that matter, it's baffling why DBD can't get a game in the 100 either.Addick Addict said:It really is totally ridiculous that someone like our former keeper/batsman, Ollie Robinson, despite the amended rules and being fully fit can sit around for four weeks at the height of the summer, as he has done so to date, unable to get a game of cricket anywhere. Billings seems to have got some form back in the 100, which is good news for Kent for the rest of the season, especially with Cox out injured.2 -
            Why isn't Compton playing?0

He's injured - cut his foot somehow in the last gamePrincessFiona said:Why isn't Compton playing?0 -
Kent won the toss (again) and are batting first (again). DBD in for Compton and Gilchrist returns for Quinn. We still have that massively long tail with Stewart at 7 but not a lot we can do about that
52-1 off 10
Denly out for 8, having already been dropped in the slips for 5
DBD 22* (34)
Leaning 12* (19)1 -

DBD reaches his 50 off 65 balls
98-2 off 192 -
            130-2 off 25
We've been here before with this sort of platform to build on. The important thing is that these two bat together for another dozen or so overs.1 -
That Leicestershire mullering killed our NRR for the entire competition (380-5 vs 116), and will ultimately cost us, even if we win today.2
 -

I've had to mute it because it's doing what little brains I do have in!!!Addick Addict said:Anyone else got no commentary on the stream but "chit chat" going on in the background?0 -

In the days when we would win the toss and elect to bowl first!killerandflash said:That Leicestershire mullering killed our NRR for the entire competition (380-5 vs 116), and will ultimately cost us, even if we win today.1 -
            51 (62) for Finch. DBD is on 79* (96)
