  •   It's bullshit. They (owners) knew Ferguson would never come and they knew MacAnthony would shout the rebuff from the rooftops.

It's another part of the game before announcing another underwhelming appointment.

    "We tried!"
Of course, similar to the transfer window itself.

We will just have to wait and see but at pure face value, it's an impressive go assuming it's genuine

  • Can’t believe no one’s chucking Joey Barton’s hat into the ring?
    Fuck that, he's a wrongun
  • They are panicking now with the realisation that they had no one lined up after they sacked Holden and are desperate to get someone in the next couple of days, so they can have half a chance to getting players in before the window closes the Friday night at 11

  • Maybe we can go for Diego Simeone next. Then we could play 442. Two birds one stone
  • Yea exactly nice to see a proven successful manager approached but could it be a nombe situation again “oooo we tried but ended up with a cheap loan signing instead” 🙄😂
What do you mean again ? Didn't think we'd been anywhere near signing Nombe or did that fiction suddenly become reality ?
  • Don’t panic.
    It’s Darren Moore.

This would be great imo. How do you know?

    It’s Darren Moore.
Notice on the ever "reliable" transfermarkt that his "preferred" formation is 3-5-2 so thats one bonus at least if true, seeing we've been building a squad with that in mind

Well noone really knows for certain do they unless your part of the SMT but from what i can tell and have seen we went for him but only would pay a certain amount and then gave up

annoying and looks abit dodgey if we then dont pay anything at all and get cheap options in on loan instead

so thats what i was referring to in this case with managers and us putting it out there about approaching a club like peterborough if it never really comes off and we went cheap !!??

I have thought for awhile they are looking to move us from the Valley down to somewhere in Kent hope I am wrong as that would be it for me & many others

Still can't explain why he agreed to let Sandgaard lease it when he could have said no though can you. No one else has either who claim he wants us out.

Has Holden put out a statement yet?
Probably a condition of his pay off that he doesn't.

Exactly what I thought when I saw it.
  • Imo you have to spend dough to get success.
We need to get out of this division lively as we continue to lose.
Having said that, it is easy to spend other people's money.
You don't have to spend loads - look at Plymouth, but you do need settled and clear management and a sound strategy.
  • Just had a thought that's a bit left field.
Could it be a way of extracting money from the club? Holden was the Methven group's choice of manager and were probably instrumental in him being handed a 3 year deal, which will now have to be paid up.
As I said at the start, just a thought.
I was thinking earlier something similar but a more left field. That Holden was brought in TO be sacked at some point early on. His 3 year contract might just be bollox & there is no pay off required. Just so they can now recruit from within & reduce costs.

But your conspiracy theory is better. He gets a big pay off that they all share.

How cynical are we as a fan base that we would even think this.

Like I said it's probably nothing but I just feel our gates have been on the decline & if they keep going that way they will look to cut costs
  • The more I think about it the more I think Holden wasn’t meant to still be here. TS gave him the extension when Spiegel was in prime position. I think he was a 6 month stop gap and then they could put in whoever they wanted in July and given them a full preseason.

He should have done better than finishing 3rd behind a very good Luton and Barnsley side and winning promotion?
Was talking about in the Championship. Gallagher wasn't with us in L1.

Fair enough. I thought you were agreeing that Duchatelet wants us out when he's already passed up opportunities to do that by agreeing to lease with three new owners since he left.

I think this means that HMS Pisstheleague has been derailed. 🥸
You can't derail a ship. You can sink ot or hole it below the waterline.

Who have we actually signed that's a 3-5-2 specialist?  May needs a partner but that's not necessarily the same thing.

The full back, and the one we have almost signed, are both "attacking full backs" as opposed to specialist wing backs.

But we’re talking about getting out of League One.

We started fine in the Championship, and were only relegated after the last kick of the season. If it hadn’t been for covid, we would have stayed up as our main striker wouldn’t have refused to play, there was a few of those players he didn’t have in the Championship anyway.
Covid was not the reason Taylor refused to play. Greed was
