    But it’s what any of us would do if we were head of comms at the club. Why would you not? They turned down cash. Obviously they’d have been mad to sell any of them, but to the less knowledgeable fan at least, it’s good news nonetheless.

    of course but that's why they were keeping a close eye on things. IF a bid had been accepted by us from a Championship side then they may have stepped in. As it is they are happy to wait a while and monitor Miles this season, I assume because they are unsure as yet to his ability but if we had accepted an offer from elsewhere they may have decided it was worth a punt, small dent in their coffers to take a chance.

    You think it is not bad. When a team like Wrexham can offer Dobson a high wage and probably a signing on fee than we can or will.

    Why put this story out if they can’t back it up with proof?

    What would you consider is good enough proof? I’ve never known any club to post documentation of transfer offers on their website.

    Posting receipts of confidential offers from other clubs is a really, really, really good way to make clubs unwilling to deal with you on transfers in the future. You'd have to be an absolute idiot to start screenshotting every bid you get and posting it online just so some fan somewhere is willing to believe the bid happened

    why are you convinced this was put out by Scott etc.? Think lots of people are forgetting Cawley will know agents, might have contacts at other clubs and will have plenty of contacts at Charlton who aren’t from the new owners. Not saying they didn’t provide some info but Cawley is a proper journalist not some hack happy to put out PR spin unquestioned

    Frankly even if it did come from within the club, in my view it was good PR. 90% of the fan base that doesn't frequent CL will see this and think its positive, which it is.

    With great respect to Rich Cawley, I suspect that Charlie's PR network extends way outside the club itself. He is a proven, skilled manipulator - just recall how so many fans initially strongly against his bid were rooting for him to clinch the deal. He might be a very personable chap, I don't know, but I wouldn't trust him as far as i could throw him  one of our corner kicks goes.

    Three different clubs.

    Are all the players of one agent, I don't know but doubt it.

    RC obviously has different contacts in the football world and I believe him when he says he found out from other source than the club. 

    The other source or sources though I would suspect got the info passed on from one source in the club.  It is to much of a coincidence that 3 different clubs/players info on possible bids turned down come to light on the day a new manager (not a popular choice with fans) is announced.   

    My real concern would be, as has been suggested by others, that they are prepping fans for a January sale.  

    Either way regardless of the last point it smacks of timely PR and who specialises in that.
