Had a little trip to Islay just before Easter.
Visited Ardbeg, Bunnahabhain, Lagavulin and Laphroaig.
Absolutely superb. Thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking of going.

I bought a bottle of Indri single malt for my Indian friend. I've no idea if its any good but he was well made with it. I know Indian men like their whisky and India produces vast amounts of the stuff so it cant be that bad, surely? About 30 quid in Goa and a bit more here, not that I saved anything buying it 4500 miles away.0

Last time I was in Goa (about 10 years ago) whisky, vodka and most other spirits was about £4 a bottle. Its caught up with the world now at least in the bigger hotels where its nearly on par with UK pub prices. But the shacks on the beaches are good value where 200 rupees buys a large bottle of Kingfisher. Anything alcohol imported has a huge tariff on it, I believe this was the same back in the 90's when I last went. I never buy locally made spirits, vodka etc, they are a bit too easy to make and I value my eyesight.blackpool72 said:
