We’ve got on paper the worst possible run of games coming up, but this is L1, every game is winnable. The team need to believe that. Under MA it felt like he didn’t set those expectations, the players had ready made excuses.
No L1 squad should go 2/3 months without a victory. At some point we’re going to see a clean sheet win, why not tomorrow?9 -

All that work with the wax and pins was worth it after all !7 -

I think many would accept a draw, Personally I always feel if you set out to do that you loose, and sometime by a large margin. If the teams confidence is so low then man mark, or play four at the back, and man mark, the issue is we seem not to be able to do that.!
Of course if we had Blackett Taylor you could have played 2 wingers, or at least tried that for part of the game?
Of course we need the team to focus on defence, but we have to have an attacking threat, no idea how long Anneke can last, and do not expect anymore than 15 minutes.

Great team from 68/69 - add in Derek Hales and Eddie Firmani and its Charlton perfection

Every player has to put in a physical shift and keep things tight - Anderson is in there purely to be a nuisance, use his engine and disrupt their CDM / playmaker. May and Aneke to come off the bench with half hour to win it for us. I think this is the blueprint for our survival - physical side with running power playing low risk football followed by half hour with the crown jewels up top

a wet and foggy M62 climb over the Pennines from N Lincolnshire, traffic surprisingly free flowing around the Mancunian MWay network .. forecast for tomorrow is muggy, cloudy and a fair chance of heavy rain as the afternoon wears on .. it is Lancashire after all lol .. REALLY looking forward to tomorrow's game2

After a more battling display on Tuesday, I am not sure whether I would have preferred an easy game or a tough one like Bolton away next. A win would mean we can all relax, and a draw will give us some comfort. However, a defeat is likely, but it's a bit of a free hit - or, as close as we will come to one, given our desperate need for points. I just hope we don't get tonked, and it gives us something to build on. Realistically, a gritty draw would be a very good result and put us in a good place for the coming weeks.1

Think the formation will stay the same and not expecting many changes. Watson on the right with Edun back in if Ramsay is fit. Too soon for Camara to start I think

Was trying to work out why this got so many lol's, perhaps that it's.
Not sure why else it would, agreed I wouldn't play it against Bolton but certainly against Pompey and the easier fixtures we have.
Just seen how this look on the mobile... it all makes sense now.

Based on nothing whatsoever, I have an overwhelming feeling that we will win one of our next three games.
There, I said it.3 -

) I think it must have been the season before so 67/68 home match possibly Blackburn but not sure. Pissing of rain all morning but not cancelled according to Grandstand so jumped on an 89 with my mate walking down Charlton Church Lane & it's absolutely deserted so two brains of Britain decide that maybe it's been cancelled but we'd better go down to the Valley to make sure
So there we were hanging about at the back of the West stand & DB came out saw us & asked what we were doing etc & had a chat for a few minute's (while getting soaking wet) & then asked if we wanted a programme for the cancelled game, erm yes please. Always think of that day when I see a mention of DB

I am really a lovely bloke when you get to know me.
I meet Dennis when he was working for Forest his boss had just got The England managers job for the under 21/23 a few hours early.
Have to agree Dennis is a good bloke.2 -
The next 3 matches remind me of our last season in the Premiership when we had a gap, played Chelsea and Man Utd and then had anorher gap before we played some winnable games against West Han etc. Well we all know how that ended.... Three ganes where points are a bonus before 4 cup finals in March. Bolton away?.No chance, 4-0 Bolton.1
