Boston - Boston - More than a feeling

Bring me The Horizon - That's the Spirit - Doomed

The Clash - London Calling - London Calling

Catatonia -  International Velvet - Mulder and Scully (personal fav)

A Night in Tunisia - 'A Night in Tunisia' ~ Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers

I Won't Back Down - 'American lll: Solitary Man'~ Johnny Cash

As for the worst opening track on a track on an album, special mention to Squeeze's Out of Touch from their album 'Sweets from a Stranger'...

  • Spiritualized - Ladies and gentlemen we're floating in space - Ladies and gentlemen we're floating in space
  • Never Let Me Down Again - Depeche Mode - Music For The Masses
  • Light as a Feather from same name album .. Chick Corea & Return to Forever
  • Leroy knows what it’s about. This is from probably the most underated album of the 90s (aside from all Gene albums that is!)

To add to the mix I propose Crystal from Get Ready by New Order.

Good shout that one @Redskin. I'd go so far as to say that the opening track on each of Ultravox first 4 albums are up there among the best.
Saturday Night In The City Of The Dead - Ultravox
    rockwrok - Ha Ha Ha
Slow Motion - Systems Of Romance (My personal fave and my favourite album)
    Astradyne - Vienna
  • Bill Withers - Just As I Am (Album ) - Harlem ( first Track ) - 1971

Mark 1. I like both but prefer the less commercial stuff. You?

Same here , really like John Foxx but i do like the more Synth pop side of the Midge Ure era .
  • The early stuff is alright, but I do prefer them without the exclamation mark. I think Foxx developed a lot when he went solo too.
