Three years ago, the pitch was dug up by foxes, how times have changed now they use fellas with tractors.
Didnt realise what I was walking into but wouldn’t change what I did.#scumbag

One thing that is noticebale in League One is the high number of decent pitches. There are still some challenging ones but it is to the credit of clubs who make the effort in this area.4

Our pitch had become one of those in the middle of the League One pitch table. Lots of much better ones out there and a few that weren't as good.
The new pitch will take us to the top of the table and will make the viewing so much better.0 -

Nathan Jones seems to be exercised about the importance of the condition of a pitch. Maybe that is why the Valley is being refurbished.1 -

Sandgaard wanted to do the same but the length of the lease, 13 years, on the Valley, was less than the 20 years required by the FA to get the £750k grant.Rothko said:

That requirement was dropped to 10 years so as long as the Women's team play at the Valley for a decade it's free money. For an additional £400 to 500k we get an upgraded pitch and possibly lower maintenance costs over the next few years.
Jones also wanting a better pitch would also have been a factor but this would have been on the cards anyway IMHO.14 -
