There's a rumour the Scottish national team might get a guest invite into the competition, just to give them some extra tournament involvement.
In all honesty, you've given a possible route to make this tournament more interesting.

If it branched out and included teams from Scottish Champ/L1 and L2. Would at least give it some novelty factor.

Its this competition that always shows how low we have sunk.
  • Nottingham Forest in the North, Notts County in the South.

I mean I imagine it'll be because of the breakdown in where U21 sides and League Two sides are.

From the U21 sides; Arsenal - Brighton - Chelsea - Crystal Palace - Fulham - Leicester - Spurs - West Ham - Wolves - Aston Villa are all in locations further South than Nottingham, but only eight of those sides can be in the Southern Draw.

Looking at the League 2 map for next season, and Notts County are the 10th most Southern team

    EFL League Two - Wikipedia

The real stupid one is Leicester... they're in the Southern draw, whilst Aston Villa and Wolves are in the Northern draw.

  • Looking at the website it seems as if the away game will be Cambridge United. With Chelsea and Bromley as the 2 home games.

Charlton will begin their southern Group C campaign with a trip to Cambridge United's Cledara Abbey Stadium on Tuesday, September 17th (KO 7pm BST).

Chelsea U21s, who are one of 16 Category One academies invited to enter a team into this season's competition, will visit The Valley on Tuesday, October 29th (KO 7pm GMT).

The Addicks then finish the group stage with a home tie against Bromley on Tuesday, November 12th (KO 7pm GMT).

  • No longer behind the goal at Cambridge, we'll now be on the side of the pitch. This is the new seating area they're installing for visiting fans. Good luck to anyone hoping to find an unrestricted view seat.

I'm guessing they are averaging 2,500 but among that possibly an unhealthy amount of spanners and 'them'.
I can imagine there will be a big police prescence for this one.
