    The French so used to raising a white flag, they didn’t realise there was  a top & bottom on the Olympic flag, they hung it upside down.

    Different, creative, risky, a bit naff, rather too long in parts, great use of the city, interspersed teams arrivals with happenings. First ever not confined to a stadium, carried on in the rain.

    Nah, Beijing set the bar and London went close. 

    Am up for something bit different but finding it a bit underwhelming. 

    Reminds me of the millennium Eve ‘river of fire’ on the Thames that just didn’t work
