Our diving lads have been great so far, but the Chinese are on another level.

    Agree:
The Chinese were brilliant on every dive.
The German men were about 6 ins different in height which makes it hard to synchronize !
The French had a 40 year old called Hunt who was on the GB team about 15 years ago !
Lots of pressure on Noel Williams but the boy did great with Tom Zaha Daley.

So Tom, Tom and  Tom have all  won medals today. What can we expect from the pipers son I wonder?

The Pipers son is no Vegan but is a good runner.
Keep beating that Tom Tom Tom drum, Swordfish.

Tom Pidcock was just different class after suddenly finding himself 39 seconds behind the French leader  after the puncture.

    Brilliant gold medal.

That last passing move from Pidcock was insane. Well deserved gold after coming back from a puncture.
In F1 the stewards would say Pidcock caused a collision & give him a 5 sec penalty.

Adam Peaty tested positive for COVID this morning!

Imagine how fast he would have gone yesterday without that additional handicap.

He said in his interview he had a sore throat but didn't want to make excuses!

Oh shit, he was supposed to be in the relays and he may've infected the whole of the British team and Sharon Davis 😱

Edited: I just remembered, COVID has been downgraded.

That was incredible to watch. Everyone making mistakes that either cost time or get 2 penalty seconds for touching a gate. One bloke who was on for a time to beat the Brit missed a gate. And then the French bloke wins by 5 seconds in an event that takes just over 90 seconds. Astonishing. But well done Adam - superb result beating people ranked higher than him.

What a swim by Richards in lane 1. Takes silver losing by 0.02 seconds.

Pretty sure they had a similar one for one of the Winter Olymipics back in the 90's?

Is that the same margin that Peaty missed out on gold by?

    I believe so.

We also just had two of our swimmers finish 4th. We are loving a near miss in the pool.

Although somewhat understandable given the battle between the Chinese and Japanese, especially on the high bar. I can't believe one of the Chinese fell off twice, and the performance of the last Japanese gymnast was amazing given he'd fallen off himself in qualifying, and had fallen off the pommel earlier.

Happy to see the top routines but I seem to remember in the past that the BBC would specifically show a couple of our routines while all the teams were moving on to the next rotation. Instead today we had lots of filling of close ups across various competitors plus replays of what we’d already seen live. A real shame when our boys came fourth and we saw next to nothing of them.

What are the BBC TV rights for Paris 2024?

Throughout the Games, the BBC will have the choice of a network TV channel and a second broadcast stream.

That means we can show the two most exciting or important events happening at any moment live at the same time.

And because of the way the Olympics schedule works, it means there will almost never be a big medal moment or race or tearful interview we can't bring you.

Broadcaster Discovery+ is the rights holder showing every moment of the Games in the UK.

The Discovery+ app and Eurosport channels will air more than 3,800 hours of live coverage in total from 07:00 to 22:30 BST each day. Discovery+ and Eurosport requires a subscription. You can find more information here.

Has to be done through marketplace first and not directly in app or it won't work.

I really hope it doesn’t end up having to be a duathlon.

Perhaps the open water swimmers could  play cards to decide their event.

Triathlon postponed due to poor water quality in the Seine.

"Organisers said about 1.4bn euro (£1.2bn) had been spent on a regeneration project to make the Seine safe to swim in after a 100-year-old ban. But as recently as June this year the level of E. coli was 10 times the acceptable level imposed by sports federations."

A pretty crazy sum of money (if true) for the water to still be shit.

Not a bright idea to hold it in the Seine in the first place IMO. It's a bit like us holding it in the Thames.  There must have been plenty of lakes in the French countryside where this could have been held.  Four years training for this? Farcical.

Do you know hes got a young son, whos there watching. This is the sort of interesting item you would think the BBC could mention, instead of all that boring sporting nonsense.

Also they say it's been postponed until tomorrow. If it's not good enough today after spending a billion and god knows how long on it, what exactly are they going to do in just 24 hours?
