Incant imagine what people must be going through at at point of being in a position to end it all, and we should all talk about our feelings more often, as the world is a mentally dangerous place.
in my opinion, I kinda agree with Golfie about impacting someone else life, that person that is driving the train has deal with that for the rest of his life, and may lead to mental health issues moving forward. I totally get Thorpe wouldn’t have been thinking straight at that point..
FYI Thorpe is was on of my biggest sporting idols growing up, remember forcing my parents to buy all the same cricket equipment as his.
he was a legend of the game, and by all accounts a good bloke.. but the impact he may have caused an innocent person doesn’t sit well with me personally.Yes maybe this is controversial but this my opinion, and we are entitled to that.0 -

Cleary questioning why someone not in the right frame of mind wouldn't consider the full implications must be alien to you.
Good luck with your life and i hope whatever part of you is hurting which causes you to say these things for attention heals one day, sincerely.2 -

Golfaddick is his user name, not Golfie. Calling him Golfie makes him sound like someone’s mate, almost human like.1

You have absolutely zero fucking idea what it’s like. Last summer I spent days curled up on the bathroom floor, unable to do anything - but try and survive until the night time where I might get a few hours of sleep if I was lucky.
To then spend those night time hours awake feeling so desperate, and so hopeless, that the thoughts circling around my head were focusing on the ways that I wanted to kill myself and how my family, and friends would react if did.
To go through it all again the next day.No one is debating the profound affect it may have on that driver, and hopefully he will get the appropriate support.
But to frame the argument as ‘there’s plenty of ways you can kill yourself’ and then for you to try and justify that with some thought piece around opinions and have a go at me at the same time for a term I used is disgusting.Educate yourself.15 -

The rest is waffle…

RIP threads are precisely that. I think the Mods ought to ensure they don't go off piste.I think there is a separate thread for mental illness .

But as I said, and people have said on here, people are not thinking at that point!
Thorpe was a legend, and my idol growing up. And Skysports on the coverage yesterday, did a wonderful tribute and the statements from the family were so strong!
RIP.2
