Oct 27th, 2006. I’d been in Chicago for three years and was crying out for an online Addicks community like CL. Iain Dowie was manager, and the following day we drew at Newcastle in the Prem. Seems like an eternity ago.

And I am a proud owner of a CL badge.

You don't join Charlton Life, it's a calling...

Some people find God when their looking up from the gutter but despite being an atheist I knew it was a calling from a lower source like a disparate family where you hardly like anyone in the kinship 🖕 but the few you bond with makes it worth while. 🫂🤝

Charlton Life is my 'one flew over the cuckoo's nest' home and despite the dystopian nature of the posts especially during our bad run of ? 5 years or so it's a place one can feel at home with other damaged folk who should continue to take the medication.

A decade since joining in July 2014 when I swipped right instead of left. It was either that or run away and join a circus.

    Here's to the next 10 years 🚂🫖💉🩹🩺💊

    April this year.

The original guy who posted as AFKA Bartram passed the account on to one of his friends in late 2021. I’m told he still goes games with his family but doesn’t look on here anymore.

His friend who took it on tried posting under his existing account and the AFKA account for about 18 months but found it ‘too much hard work to stay patient with people’.

I’m an ex-work pal of his and bought the account of a minimal amount about 4 months ago. I don’t know much about Charlton (Man U fan) but it’s been real fun getting to understand the different personalities etc. I run a small business that provides online user information to bigger tech companies, so I’ve gained a lot of good information in that regard, but I’m definitely getting sucked into the football and intend to take on one of the away games up north near where I live later in the season. Up the Addicks

    Welcome @AFKABartram mate.

PS if you need a bigger office chair just let me know and I'll have one sent out from HQ and you can chuck the little kiddie one in the bin.

That’s very kind, thanks. I’m down in the South East next month so DM your address and I’ll pick it up

Can't remember the exact history. Was a Netaddick from about 1998/99 then it seemed to evolve into Charlton life. So probably from day one.
Really looking forward to the Gold Watch.

December 28th, 2013. It honestly feels a lot longer though, and has helped me stay connected to Charlton when I have lived away from the area for stints.

I've visited a lot of football forums, and I agree that this is the best. Another site I like is Sunderlands message boards, but I'm of course not as engrossed like I am on here.

Over ten years, rookie numbers though compared to some of you vets

Roughly 1.26 posts per day since I've joined up for those xG enthusiasts

    22nd August 2006.

    Bloody hell.

I was on the ‘Charltonbabes’ before that……..at least I think that was what it was called lol
Ah, yeh @KBs@KBslittlesis I was on Charltonbabes too.
Got onto Babes after the original BBC606 site changed format, from it's original incarnation when anybody could post on any clubs page and engage in utter shithousery.
Babes was fun and there were some really good posters on there. I think Exiled Addick and Rodney Charlton Trotter were on there. Do you remember Mackle, BobCharlton and oh gosh so many names I have forgotten.
I was a different name on there, might have been SmokedAddick, or DogSzabolcs or something.
Not enough footfall or membership I guess.
This site though is a different level. Amazing and addictive.
Can't remember when I joined, but then I can't remember much at all these days.
I am sure I was about 50 when I joined Babes, now I'm bloody 70.

April 2007. I was also one of the Cafcbabes. Cozy little home. In those days I was top transfer ITK bod as I had a great connection through to the Board. Long gone now.
