A big ‘if’ there. Like, If we were bottom by Christmas then yeah, he’d be under pressure. Since then there’s been some extreme clutching of pearls on something that wasn’t said. Move on.
I don't see Cardiff as a particularly attractive job. The sort of position you'd go for if unemployed and desperate for a job, but it's a low chance that you'll succeed and improve your reputation, as they're not stable or especially well funded.
NJ has zero chance of managing in the Championship, after Stoke and Southampton he needs to prove he can manage a successful team and get them promoted.

I can't see him seeing out his contract here & it wouldn't surprise me if he was gone by the end of this season.

I mean even if we were storming the League, anyone who thought we'd go the entire season without losing a game (most likely having to play crap for that to happen), is kidding themselves.
We're just making it a touch harder for ourselves having already lost twice, Portsmouth (5) - Derby (10) - Plymouth (7) - Ipswich (4) - Wigan (8) - Rotherham (10) are the games you can afford to lose in recent years with promotion.

I don't think Tan is interested enough in Cardiff anymore to pay what would be a seven figure compensation fee for a manager. Far more likely to appoint a Roland esque random European manager who's currently unemployed.

Modern world, people are incredibly fickle. It's a very modern British thing to turn on someone over night. Seen the reactions to Aj losing? Kier opinion polls ? Few policies and everyone is a tory again. Musician becomes a superstar ? Let's break them, it's like life is curated by The Sun.
Nathan Jones has been a good appointment, results have improved and observing his work is way better than observing Appleton and Garner. I liked Holden on a personal level, and he and Adkins had other relatable qualities. I believe that there has been a stumble, but as this season is developing it is interesting, not confusing, observing how Jones tackles things. I however admit to being confused regarding the whole Alfie May situation, but I don’t blame Jones for the loss of Dobbo. Jones has now got the next move to make in his managerial job this week, not in some far flung future in Wales, and it will be intriguing how he deals with the next selection. The idea of us wanting him to depart is frankly stupid. We should want him to get three points at Stevenage.
I have little time for NJ but he is here and needs to be given the season to do his thing
Like you I have little time for him but I'll go even further & say we should stick by him for 2+ years. No point bringing in a new manager who will want different players for a different system. Just more yearly churn of players.
Problem at the moment is that the 'churn of players' over the summer has not improved the team. The only new player to be consistently good is Mitchell, and the defence has improved partly as a result of him. The midfield is just as pedestrian as last season and our large collection of forwards seem incapable of scoring (unlike the man they replaced).
We can win games and keep clean sheets now. I'd call that an improvement.
Calm down, there isn't a single comment suggesting Jones should be sacked here. One person said he'd go "if it turned sour" as per any managerial role in the world, which has led to dozens of people calling out the "madness!" of wanting him gone – which hasn't even been said.

Who has been good though? Jones, Coventry, Gillesphey, Ramsay, players who either signed in January or required rebuilding entirely as a player. Which should indicate that maybe we need a bit of time for players to settle in. Add to that he's improved our atrocious goalkeeping situation and improved our defence no end (20 goals conceded this time last season compared to 7 this season). The midfield does need to improve and you can see where the work will need to go in but last season was about survival at all costs, this one is about adapting to a new way and it's a lot for a team to adapt to. We have a lot of strikers we already had - Campbell, Kanu, Chuks, Leaburn - and we brought in two strikers in place of May; Godden and Ahadme. They have 3 goals between them so far, May has 4. There's loads of areas that can improve but we all would have taken 3 points off top spot 7 games in before the opening day at Wigan. The dreary style makes it easier to be concerned but there's more to be hopeful about than despairing about I reckon
Talk of sacking NJ is madness, we are only a handful of games into the season and whilst not playing brilliantly we are in the play off positions. Give the team a few months to bed in with miles and Edwards coming back we should improve.

Can't see him leaving but being a Welshman I would imagine the chance of managing Cardiff would be a huge draw for NJ. He has left jobs early before, I wouldn't rule it out. Hope he stays as we need the stability.
