I actually don’t mind Arsenal that much. Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U are far more repulsive to me.
But I’m finding myself hoping they lose out on the title due to one objectively wrong decision in one match, just because @SELR_addicks will lose his shit.

my Father In Law (RIP) was a lifelong City fan and a conversation I had with him when I was bemoaning what had become of our club one day he said to me that he enjoyed being a City fan more in the old days before this lot came along although he still supported them obviously.
my question is if a nation state bought us and propelled us to those levels would you still support us ?
Sure the Man City colours are the same, but they have zero connection to the club they were beforehand.

City are at the top of the tree now, they've got one of the world's best academies, some of the world's best facilities, a squad that is probably worth 1.5 billion, and in the year they won the treble they pulled in almost 300m in prize money alone.
If Mansour sold them they'd simply be bought by another equally rich owner and any sponsorships deals made now would be tied to the current level they're at (the very top).
Claiming that the English champions who have no debt would suddenly be bankrupt is pure nonsense.2 -

In terms of fanbase obviously they're not going to overtake Man U anytime soon, unless their current demise continues for another 20 years whilst City keep winning trophies. But they're very popular in the US and they have huge followings on social media, so they clearly have fans somewhere.

I don't think you can underestimate that fans abroad will attach themselves to winners. City first won the PL 12 years ago so you've now pretty much got an entire generation of kids up to the age of around 17-18 who since they got into football have only ever known Man City winning things.1 -

VAR, well in credit this weekend:
Kudus who was only given a Yellow card for kicking Van de Ven on the ground, then snapping his head back with his palm, slapped Sarr, and emulated Joey Barton on a night out. This was overturned by VAR who said come and have a look as you need to rescind the Yellow and give Kudus 3 Reds !
To the naked eye Jackson looked offside as he often is but VAR proved other wise.
Lots of other cases as well but I appreciate that isn't a popular narrative.4 -

Don't understand why the penalty didn't stand. Goalie knocks ball forward to Jones who puts it through goalies legs and gets wiped out. Why not a pen? Is there some funny rule i don't know here?
