Rehan Ahmed is on. This could go either way!

And there it is. Rehan has Rizwan LBW trying to sweep to a ball that gets under his bat. It's reviewed but the decision is confirmed.

    151-5

Again a batsman out playing a cross batted shot. This wicket just isn't conducive to that and all the batsmen that have been successful on it have used that shot exceptionally sparingly.

Permission to collectively laugh at India?

Nothing funnier than Kohli getting out cheap again.

    Rizwan  LBW Rehan 25
    151/5

I honestly thought that partnership was going to go large.

    Such a close game.

It is that point of difference that Rehan brings. It's not someone that you can have as one of your frontline two spinners (at the moment anyway) because he can bowl too many bad balls but because of the liquorice allsorts he does bring to the table, there is always a chance that he will surprise a batsmen or two.

Rehan gets another LBW, this time with a beauty that beats the outside edge of Salman and hits him on the back leg. Despite another review, it is given as "umpire's call"

Great to see Rehan's Dad in the crowd celebrating his success. By all accounts, both the fathers of Atkinson and Bashir are there too.

Atherton "One of Rehan's issues is that he doesn't get that many overs bowling for Leicestershire". He could be any of our young spinners at any of our counties. If the ECB wanted to revolve that issue, they could.

It does seem rather strange seeing Gower in a Pakistan shirt, albeit because he is part of their commentary team

Is that future England spinner Farhan next to him? Get him in the nets

    Don't think he's England qualified
  • On a side note Western Australia go from 52-2 to 53 all out and it was a wide 😂

LOL. Six consecutive ducks. I'm surprised that one or two of those batsmen weren't "timed out" in the rush to get padded up.

Rehan has bowled superbly with very few freebies. Given the game was drifting for so long, it probably begs the question as to why Stokes, who is normally so proactive in that respect, didn't have him on earlier.

And that entire WA batting lineup has played for Australia at international level in one format or another.

    'Lord Gower' has form !
Born in Royal Tunbridge Wells, KENT. Prep school in Hawkhurst, KENT. King school, Canterbury, KENT.

So obviously David Gower would play for Leicestershire !

Good effort by England this morning. Rehan has bowled very well. If we could take a 50 or so run lead into the 2nd Innings that could prove pivotal.

It's still a mystery to me as to why he was never involved at Kent. It appears that he was living in Loughborough when picked for Leics 2s but that would have been post A Levels. Nowadays, one would have thought that he would be in the Kent age group system and given a game or two at 17/18 in their 2s. And then Surrey would have poached him.

I see that Nasser's brother, Mel, is in the England Over 60s squad to tour Australia along with two Kent players, Jim Phillips and Simon Routh. Simon has played for Tunbridge Wells for decades and decades (bar two or three years at Hayes) and I played against him as long ago as 1980. It's men like Simon that suddenly make me feel young. And then reality sets in when I try and get out of the chair!!!

Bashir has Noman LBW - reviewed by Noman immediately and it transpires that he has, indeed, hit it

Umpire Shahid Saikat not having the greatest game with another mistake but England appeal as any team would on village greens or test matches !

Interesting listening to Agnew talking about eating them, rather than just talking them.
