    Too much data analysis, zonal marking, xG bollocks. Back in the 70s and 80s when we were at this level we had players like Killer, Walsh, Eliot, Smudger Smith, Les Berry. These players knew what their job was and the whole thing was kept simple 442 or 433. And there was only 1 sub in those days.
    We may not have won anything, but we came away from the Valley feeling like we'd been entertained. And we had some hero's.

    Hurts me to say it, but this lot mean nothing to me.

    Surely there is a silver lining....guess not, fucking hell it's grim at the moment. Really hope this group can sort this out but it's the general play overall that has me concerned that we won't, not to anything amounting a promotion push anyway

    I’ve said it a few times before, but how were Campbell and Docherty playing championship football last season? They are shit and don’t even look good enough for league 1. Truly bizarre.

    Must have, he’s the player in this game last season who only had the goalkeeper to beat and he took the ball so wide he must have been distracted by the corner flag flapping and he missed…

    Biggest transfer mistakes of the summer:
    1) selling Alfie May
    2) spending the May money on Ahadme
    3) not signing a single attacking midfielder/wide forward
    4) signing A Campbell
    5) signing Hylton

    However, I honestly think we are only 2-3 players short of a playoff team. Right now we have no effective system possible with these players. We need 2 attacking midfielders and maybe a top striker. Rest are workable.

    Absolute rubbish!! I haven’t criticised NJ at all so far but his set ups just seem to be designed to bore everyone to death ! 
    Taylor the guy who can deliver a decent ball and he takes him off. It’s all just strange

    They’re ok for L1, but we don’t need two of them in a team that already has Taylor and Coventry sitting in front of the defence.

    Taylor not NJ’s player, he’s only getting games now due to injuries. Once the injured players return, Taylor will be back in the U21s.

    the league is so tight though you only need to win three on the trot and you are right back in the mix. Problem is can’t see it happening. Best hope is limp through to January still in touch of the play offs and strengthen again then. But can we trust anyone to strengthen properly. The summer window is now looking like a very poor one, bodies in but not of sufficient quality and not in the right areas.
