    In the East Riding County League, AFC Eastfields trounced Pocklington Town 10-0. It's an unusual scoreline, for sure, but not unique. However, each one of Eastfield's ten outfield players scored.

    Good win for the Darts against top of the league (at kick off) Billericay 4-0 in front of over 1,600, Darts move up to 3rd whilst Billericay fall to 4th, Darts now 1point behind Dover and Cray Valley top 3 all played 27 games.

    Revitalised Welling side won 1-4 at WSM yesterday.
    4 loan signings from Eastbourne completely changed the team.
    Very impressive, after going a goal down after two mins.

    Owner has invested heavily at Eastbourne, think they're FT now too. Had a lot of squad changes in the summer but am surprised they've got the depth to do this.

    Only two of the four are on loan (Jayden Davis and Dan Quick)
    The other two are permanent moves (James Alabi and Finn Ballard-McBride)

    Forgot to mention, think Alabi may have been out of contract.
    Yes, Eastbourne have wealth and are full time.
    You could see the difference in fitness from the full time players

    I was at Hornchurch on Saturday, did a quick interview with the gaffer. Afterwards he said I should interview this old bloke sitting at his table. "He's managed 700 league games!" another guy said. This bloke looked a bit sheepish and quietly said it was more like 300, but he had managed in the Championship. "He was at Charlton for a while!"

    I was now obviously very interested, but in the heat of the moment I couldn't for the life of me figure out who it was. I drew a total blank. I had to ask outright, "Sorry mate, what's your name?"

    "Steve Gritt!" he said. I was so shocked and embarrassed to not recognise him, although in my defence I haven't seen his face in 20+ years and he's not getting any younger. I told him I was a Charlton supporter and watched most of his Addicks career, and he seemed to like that. More than Lennie or Parkinson when I spoke to them that's for sure.  I told him Lennie was bemused when I ran up to him and said hello, he wasn't surprised by this.

    I begged him to talk to me on camera but he wasn't having it. He was nice enough though and I told him seeing him was the highlight of my day. Also, he stayed well clear when there was a fracas with all the coaches at half time!

    Went to VCD yesterday for their last 16 vase game. Terrible affair, VCD pushing for a winner last 5 mins, other team lump it in box and score winner (1-0) last kick of the game. Didn’t even have time to kick off.

    E&B and Whitstable through to last 8.

    Just back from a miserable Weymouth weekend.
    Cant believe the difference between last weeks performance at WSM and what was dished up yesterday.
    Stand in GK tried to catch the ball and it went straight through his hands.
    Manager pretty much stated, that his time at Welling is spent.

    He didn’t get the Dutchy nickname at Charlton because he tended to pass on the right hand side. He must have changed to the left hand side.

    Imagine there'll be a few nervous clubs bottom half of League Two now. The standard between top half of NL and bottom half of L2 gets smaller every year. Oldham, Rochdale, Southend, Hartlepool, Yeovil, Scunthorpe, etc have all had their difficulties since going down. Since 2017/18 when Tranmere won the NL playoff final, 11/14 promoted sides have stayed up since with Tranmere, Orient, Stockport and Wrexham all going a step higher for at least one season.  Every chance Wrexham end up in the Championship next year and Notts County and potentially Salford will join the group of teams that have come up again to League One

    Wasnt aware that Sittingbourne beat Southend 1-0 away on Saturday in the FA Trophy. Into the last 8 which is an amazing achievement for a club playing in the Isthmian South East League.

    Yeah, a classy assist from Bonne, we all enjoyed it on his thread. Sort of a derby too, if being on the same longitude on opposite sides of an estuary counts for that

    2 up from the NL is a nonsense, when the quality gap between the NL and L2 is tiny. Most teams promoted from the NL survive quite comfortably in L2, indeed teams relegated from L1 are if anything more likely to go down again, as happened with Forest Green and may happen with Carlisle this season.

    It's especially odd when between L1 and L2 there are 4 places at stake.
