RIP John Prescott

I met him several times. He had time for everyone (including Tories), a lot of dry humour and could be self deprecating. Flawed yes (aren’t they all) but a very decent bloke. My overriding memory is that it was almost impossible to have a conversation with as it was like stream of consciousness on his part! RIP6

RIPThe punch of course sticks in the memory - but for me I’ll remember Prescott standing up for Blair at Conference. He may not have entirely agreed with Blair but knew what the plans and policies he had would achieve so backed him to the hilt and won over the left of the Party. So much good stuff was done post ‘97.2
