My mini pre race prediction is that Yuki will try his best to back up the field as much as possible through sector 1 for as long as Norris is behind him

This is why Verstappen is disliked by everyone but his fanboys. The fact is, he’s insanely talented, yet he continually insists on dirty play and being underhand. You can call it competitive spirit, but when he makes moves like today, he’s so bang to rights he just looks like a cheat. It’s a good job his car isn’t the best in the field this year, because then he could build a 5 second gap and that penalty would be worthless. Personally, I feel if you gain an advantage and don’t give it back quickly enough, you should get 5 seconds AND be obliged to give it back. Or, if that’s impractical, 10 seconds.
5 second time penalty is not much use for Piastri there who lost a place because Max acted illegally.
Max apparently has his own rule book. Anyone else & they give the place back. But not Max. He just gets a 5 sec penalty that he'll take when he is 20 secs ahead.
You can bet your life that if Piastri had gone off the track, Verstappen would be absolutely screaming into his radio that he should give the place back.

I'm not sure that's how it works. If you go off the track and gain an advantage, and you give the place or places back voluntarily, there is no further investigation and therefore no further penalty.
If you or your team think you were in the right and there was no illegal advantage, then you stay out, the stewards investigate and, if necessary hand down what they believe to be a suitable penalty,
Today that was what happened and the penalty was deemed to be 5 secs which i thought was lenient but in the end turned out to be worth exactly one place
Answered one question then DC mentioned the incident and he said "See you in Miami" and walked off! Behaving like a petulant child in the cool down room!

Yeah just seen he's not got involved in the spraying of Rose Water
He really doesnt like it when he doesnt win, but is probably the worst loser out there
It doesn’t help that Whinger Spice comes on the radio and encourages Max, saying that they were only 2.4 seconds behind. Feeds Max’s resentment that he would have won without the 5 second penalty. They really do deserve each other, those two. And that team as well.

You'd think that he'd be eternally grateful to the stewards as, after all, it was them that handed him his first driver's championship.

Its when they do it in Press Conferences

Felt watching last season that he'd be McLaren's bigger threat than Lando
Piastri's 3rd win in the last 4 races though, right now you'd have to say he looks the more likely to win the title.
Such a contrast to Piastri.
