  • Paul Warne has been appointed the new MK Dons Manager.

could be a good appt .. MK have nosedived after being pretty much humiliated in last years playoffs .. their great stadium needs to house a much better team
I see that Pete Winkelman who virtually founded the Dons, has sold out to a Kuwaiti consortium, he couldn't take, or perhaps, spend anymore (lol)
  • Conor Hourihane has become Barnsley manager after a spell as interim boss: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c4g7wzg34g7o
  • Cardiff have sacked Omer Riza with Aaron Ramsey taking over for the last 3 games. Chris Gunter will be one of his assistants

  • Not a surprise, with the results on the pitch and Riza's comments about the fans being clueless. With 3 games to go, they need a short term boost.

Nathan Jones 16/1 for next permanent manager, according to this article.

I really hope Ramsey keeps them up, as surely the job is then his.

Nathan Jones for Cardiff must be on a loop ?
Charlton and Nathan are focused on the next possible 6 games.

Next season we don't know which Leagues, Cardiff or Charlton will be in.

Just like Charlton fans need to realize we play 3 more league games; then if 3rd, 4th or 5th we have two semi final matches and only then a possible Wembley date.

Lots of if and buts and none of them concern Nathan Jones leaving; lots of discussions at the end of the season depending on CAFC status and what is the ambition of our American owners ?
  • I'm really surprised Norwich haven't made a change yet

Took over when they were 7th, got 5 wins in 18 games which left them in 10th and is sacked 3 months into a two and a half year contract. What an appointment!

Always felt like a sentimental one rather than a sensible one.

WBA and Norwich are in danger of losing their yo-yo club tag!

Once ex PL teams slip into midtable mediocrity in the Championship, it's hard to recover. You don't have the parachute money any more, but you still have some of the PL cost structure.

They have now, Johannes Hoff Thorup has gone. Jack Wilshire in temporary charge.

I'm not surprised - they've been a tough watch this season.

If it hadn't been for Josh Sargent's goals they'd be in all sorts of strife.

If we sacked a manager every time we lost to Millwall…….
I started watching the game yesterday (Charlton game on TV with Tel and Stubbers' commentary synced up on the computer, Spanners-Canaries game on tablet) but switched over to the Disney game when the Spanners went 2-up.

Norwich were dreadful ... and they have been in most of the Norwich games I've watched this year (quite a few because I tend to have that on alongside Charlton). There's plenty of nice passing but it never goes anywhere, they don't create too many chances (when they do they can't score) and there's always a defensive balls-up around the corner.

Normally the fans would be considering themselves starting next season with a six-point head-start because of their domination over the mob across the River Waveney over the last 20-odd years but I think even that would be in some doubt if Town can keep most of their first team together.
  • Would be surprised if Norwich keep Sargent and Borja Sainz in the summer. Sargent almost went to MLS last summer for £15m and I can't see that kind of offer being turned down if someone came back in for him. Sainz I wonder if a newly promoted side offers a decent fee for .

What is crazy about that stat is (with the exception of Bowyer) we did sack every manager who has lost against Millwall (in the 21st Century). Not after loosing to Millwall granted but it goes to show how many managers we went through since 2010.
  • Daily Mail reporting that Leeds are considering replacing Daniel Farke. Would be an interesting move. His PL record is poor and managing in the PL is very different to managing in the Championship. Would Leeds have a better chance of staying up with a manager with PL pedigree? And if so, who is out there with that pedigree?
  • Interesting move if they do - there have been a few managers who have struggled following promotion from the Championship, but it is because they aren't suited to the Premier League, or that the gap is too big?

  • Both Farke and Parker have amazing records in the Champ and rubbish ones in the Prem. Can completely see why they would make the change given his previous experiences with Norwich, even if it's incredibly harsh on him.

Big Ange once he leaves Spurs............
  • That would be crazy. Yes Norwich were a yo-yo side under Farke, but since they sacked him they've slid down  to the Championship and stayed there.

I can't think of a successful PL manager out there who would take the Leeds job, leaving instead a series of managers who all got sacked by PL clubs anyway.

Surely it's got to be the gap/ player quality. Manager can't make a silk purse out of sows ear

good chat on Talk sport y/day on this topic .. turns out Farke's record is better than St Bielsa's .. Simon Jordan analysed spending patterns after promotions, both Leeds (and Norwich) spent little and suffered after promotions.
Also playing 'attacking/kamikaze football' re: Southampton and Burnley (last season) .. gotta walk before trying to run in the Prem (or any Division)

Bielsa got Leeds promoted to the PL and then they finished 9th.
  • Newport looking for a new manager, this one genuinely seems like a mutual agreement

I'd not like to be a West Brom fan if this is true.  What has the guy done to allow this upgrade?
