Their statement doesn't mention a release clause. Just that they've reluctantly agreed to let him go after he made it clear he didn't want to stay.
And i can see why they're pissed off. He's fucked off 4 months into a 3.5 year contract at the first sign of interest from elsewhere. It's probably not about the players/staff he wanted, it's clearly because they "received repeated verbal promises from Miron that he was committed to Argyle and would do everything to help the club bounce back to the second tier".
