  • Do we still get the Joe Gomez sell in to cash in on? 😀😂

In terms of the squad I’m sure you’ll get it bang on.

Off the top of my head I’d be giving upgrades to the players below compared to their ability in last years.

    Mannion
    Ramsay
    L Jones
    A Mitchell
    Edwards
    Small
    TC

  • FM25 cancelled.

  • How annoying, I've been putting off starting a new save for the last few months thinking there's not much point.
  • Piss poor this. Seems like they have overshot and paid the price.

The game is good so just tweak it, didnt need a massive overhaul!
  • Think we all knew that was coming. They should’ve cancelled it at the 2nd delay and put all efforts into making FM26.
  • Also, crazy and cowardly decision to do that at 2:34am

Looks like it was the earliest time they could announce it. Stakeholder obligations and stuff
  • Makes a change... Most games just get released buggy as shit these days, with the usual complaints that the Developer should have held off releasing until it was fixed - Just looks like SI have done exactly that?
  • It’s a real shame. Hopefully this doesn’t have long term implications for the studio. Sega, who own SI, obviously won’t be happy about what’s happened.

Saw an youtube video about this. Apparently they are contracted to make at least one game this year (hopefully they can put a patch onto FM24 to make up for it.

In the most recent one  the youtuber goes into the reasons why this might of happened.

  • FM25 cancelled.

should have cancelled it in November when they pushed it back, worked doubled hard on FM26 and just added the releases to that. Would have been better for them to send players a major patch for the current season.
  • I remember when Pro Evo announced they were skipping a year. I assumed the next game would be excellent with time for an engine rebuild. But it turned out to be the worst Pro Evo of all time. Let's hope this doesn't go the same way.

To be fair just download the latest update for Championship Manager 01/02

Still the greatest version they've ever released, its now free to download, and people are still modding it now to keep it up to date

    Got a link?
  • Those games come out too often anyway. Should just be a data base update every 2 or 3 years, then a new game, same goes for fifa and most of these sports games.
Like most things, its driven by revenue. And the brand name of "FIFA/EA FC" or Football Manager is enough for it to sell every single year with marginal differences in the actual product.

Sports Interactive absolutely have to deliver with FM26. They are a single game studio, and are owned by Sega. As a public company I expect they won't tolerate any further mess-ups.

This is what I do - love it.

I've not got time any more for hours and hours of training schedules and press stuff etc, and you can get a season done in a couple of sessions of playing.

The updates with current players are great, makes it feel fresh again and also you don't know the cheap Swedish 19 year old wingers or Mike Duff etc off by heart!

If you want to speed up the matches even more, use the tool below (Your browser might ask if you really want to keep it, as it might be harmful, but its just an .cfg file which you need to save / overwrite the original in your "Data" folder.

I tend to set the Speed to "50" and then Download the file, makes subs a bit harder etc., but as a result you can usually get a single season completed within an hour or two as the matches themselves are a lot faster.

  • Was concerned there would be no game but there was a lot of advertising for it yesterday so feeling more positive

I've been updating the squad, staff, club etc for FM26 during the last month, so all good as far as I can tell.
  • Has anyone tried updating FM24 with the latest updates and patches on FM Scout etc. Saw a YouTube video with a guide showing how to update FM24 with transfers, results and the date, so that you can effectively play "FM26".

I don't own FM24 so keen to see if anyone, particularly any mac users, have tried this. Trying to figure out if this can be done whilst playing via Steam...
  • Here's the update tutorial for context

    So, what we thinking...

    FM26
    Macaulay Gillesphey
    Free Kicks: 20

    Completely fair, right?
I wonder if there are any other players who have a better percentage rate of scored free kicks that absolutely should not have gone in?

Yes I’ve tried a couple of different versions of this.

It works so that you can effectively play FM with this seasons squads, leagues etc but it isn’t perfect. The updates don’t include the data for the things that happened during the missing period.

A Charlton related example - Alfie May’s profile indicates that he never played for Charlton (because he came and went within that period).

The game still starts in 2023, so a player like Myles Lewis-Skelley is still 16 years old and Euro 2024 hasn’t even happened.

Not the end of the world, but I personally find it quite glaring when things like that aren’t covered - especially in a game where accuracy and detail is so central to the experience.

Thank you! Maybe I'll give it a go. This youtuber seemed to suggest with a combination of updates/patches he could even change the start date. I.e commence summer 2025. That would update player ages etc. May not get around the history issue you mention, but did seem to suggest the wonder kids were updated which must includes Myles Lewis Skelley. He uses the example of Chido Obi at United. But yes, not likely to be perfect.
