Definitely a player that will fill Berry's role. We had to change shape a bit without Berry so this signing should cure that problem. 24, great age and still not in his prime.
Money grabbing bastard. He had it good, seemed really settled and i can't believe he's chosen to leave after everything the club did for him...........oh sorry is this not the Thierry Small thread?
Going forwards our central midfield was arguably the weakest point of our team last season. We didn't have the players who could play through the middle, on the half-turn, carry the ball, etc.. I'm glad we are bringing in someone who can help us progress up the pitch.
Disappointing that our first signing isn't a shoe in starter
I don't think that any of the players in the squad at seasons start should be seen as "shoe ins", or at the very least should not be seeing themselves as such.
New players should respect what the original squad achieved but aspire to taking that onto the next level, survivors from the L1 squad should be given a chance to prove themselves but not assume that sentiment will keep their starting spot.
I'd say there's a pretty good chance that Carey actually will be in the starting 11 next season honestly.
Potentially more competition for Berry I think? Blackpool played him quite advanced or on the wing in a bit of a Graham Stuart/Claus Jensen 'tuck in when defending, get forward when not' type role.
That honestly sounds like it should fit pretty well into NJ's system. I'm not honestly going to say that this is a signing that blows me away and fills me with confidence but neither is it one where I am baffled by the logic or totally underwhelmed.

A midfielder who can score goals ✅
Experienced in the Championship but is also still young ✅
What's not to like.

Should have them in a bag.
And remember to check them frequently chaps, for lumps bumps and anything that feels unfamiliar
Strong ball carrier and willing to shoot from distance. Wish him well.
You have a decent signing
More concerned with the hoodie. If that is the best Reebok can come up with then I dread to think what else we are going to see.
Seems a sensible low risk move.
