Just seen that Swansea might be out of the running for Ethan Erhahon according to one of their board members on the subject of Lincoln.

Sounds like Lincoln are looking for in the region of 1 million and add ons, would love to be in for him, would go straight into our starting XI. Best player on the pitch when we lost at theirs last season 3-1, our midfield couldn't get near him.

Sorensen got all of the plaudits for his attacking work but it was Erhahon who dictated the game. Only 24 as well.

Our midfield couldn’t get near anyone that season. A bit like the time Fraser was made to look like Pirlo against us.
Panuche Camara being another gleaming example.

Would really be a statement if we went for Galbraith now
They allegedly want £4mill for him...
I thought Galbraith struggled for NI last night. Nothing he tried came off and was bullied physically.

Hey guys first post for me on here i really like reading all your comments. Now that Thierry has been moved on would have loved him to stay I wonder whether we will go to a double pivot in a 4231 allowing tc to be in his most dangerous position wide left. Coventry alongside Galbraith would be an incredible partnership with doc pushing them as well. Would love our marquee signing to be Galbraith then sign three wingers one to compete with Tyreece on the left and two on the right although NJ doesn’t like loans they can be very useful top premier league clubs have got youngsters who could improve our squad massively and not have to break the bank either just look at jrs a few seasons back was our best player by miles.  I truly belive if we get recruitment correct and stick with NJ and the team throughout the season we stay up comfortably.
I don’t think we would move to a 4231 as 2 out of 3 CB’s only work in a back 3. Ramsay could shift to RB but it isn’t really his best role. Much more likely that Carey takes over from Berry and shifts out wide at times in my opinion
Apparently Carey drifts to the left.

Erhahon is an exception player. Would be a class signing.

Had we not got promoted then I could see a potential case for signing Grimmer , but not in the Championship. Yes he is a good defender , but L1 is his level. Likewise ( apart from getting Chuks sent off) Luke Leahy always impressed my both with the Chair boys and Shrewsbury but he is also slightly older. I would also reject Sonny Bradley because he hasn't played consistently in the Champ apart from a brief spell at Luton

Nathan is not afraid of signing older players. He brought in Lua Lua and Wickham in his early time with us and Snodgrass enjoyed an Indian summer to his career with Luton.

Sticking with Wycombe , now Small has gone would Adam Reach be worth approaching?

We need a versatile left footer and he impressed me inthe play off games. Unlike the others I have mentioned on the thread he has spent most of his career in the Second tier. I guess it depends on who else is available.

I felt it was a shame we never signed Jewison Bennette on deadline day. Although I admit that I haven't seen him play , he fitted the profile of what in my opinion we need a quick left footed option going forward and it felt he would have been a decent punt as a wildcard. Could he be attracted back from Ukraine?

Personally wouldn't want anyone from the Wycombe squad. Obviously can only say that from the games we played against them, but wouldn't be keen on seeing them pull on our shirt.

Can blame there manager for a lot, but they are still the players who bottled it and ended up 5th. I believe we can do a lot better than there players this summer for signings (obviously Kone is the exception but he's likely to go for big money if rumours were true what Luton were happy to spend).

Good shout on Jewison Bennette, it doesn’t seem to have worked out in Ukraine, he’s barely played.

Didn’t we only go after him because we couldn’t get the player from Colchester (Tovide?) over the line? In which case I think we’d be more likely to be in for him again.

Would like to hope our targets would be of a higher calibre now though

Yeah that was a last minute panic move when we couldn't get Tovide , wonder if we'll go back in for him or if as you say we are shopping in a higher bracket now for strikers.

I think people should remember that we still have an option in Nathan Asiimwe for that right sided role. I also think that you will see more of Dixon and hopefully Leaburn this season. Because we set up in a certain way last season, doesn't necessarily mean that will be the case for the coming season, a different set of dynamics for different challenges.
Not sure he'd be ready yet for Championship football. If he wasn't deemed ready enough for league one football this season, why do we think he can suddenly step up after a dozen games at Walsall?

Scarfy have largely been sidelined in recent seasons’ transfer dealings . Is he even still on the payroll? Some of the players/owners he’s been associated with in recent years have certainly bought his judgement into question

Sign-y has been more prominent but can’t claim uninterrupted success

The club needs to better communicate about whether Sign-y has taken over Scarfy’s duties. Poor communication - and what about Flaggy for that matter?

That last photo…you would be forgiven for thinking it is Matt Smith… but it’s not. It’s actually Matt Smith.

Tovide still seems a very random target, even as a L1 club at the time.

I’m sure it came from a random Colchester’s X account, I don’t think Cawley or any other journalist ever confirmed the interest in Tovide? It was however confirmed we were after Jewison Bennette.

Do they need to say it? What else would it be? Surely every Championship club shares that ambition. If they'd said it before finishing 16th in L1, they'd have left themselves open to ridicule. Meaningless words without context anyway, but I'm encouraged by the progress towards it so far.

Grimmer would be a decent addition - not pretty but pretty effective
Grimmer is a good player, and his "ugliness" is exaggerated just because he blotted out Campbell - sour grapes.  (And his surname does not help).

But I think he is best in a back four. How often will we play that way?
We don't need Grimmer. He's just a nasty piece of work.
He is not JUST a nasty piece of work, he is a solid defender. Aside from the questions over whether he would fit into our formation, I think he’s good enough to make the step up and I’d be happy to have him.

Unless the financial gap between the championship and the premier league closes and staying up is a realistic possibility, I’d settle for a nice long spell in the championship .

No. It's what people on here want us to do.

Today we've had Morgan, Aribo & Dougherty join the ever crowded bus that includes Djikstel, Famewo & Carson.

    Its utter madness.
Some of them did well for us, or like Morgan have improved since. Bringing back old failures is madness - whatever next -  voting for Farage again..........?

I can't see what the problem is in discussing Dijksteel rejoining. He was sold to Boro for about £2m and is available on a free with lots of Championship experience. Although he is unlikely to come back because wages will be a stumbling block.

It’s the sane nonsense anytime we have a managerial vacancy and people go on about getting Curbs, Chris Powell or the ghost of Jimmy Seed back in.

I remember Sandgaard saying we would be to be a Premier League within 5 years and achieve European football 😂

I think a lot of these people are naive and underestimate the money pit in this league. I suppose in this instance though, they themselves haven't actually said it publicly, it's Bowyer who has spilled the beans.

Deep pockets for the promised land gents, deep pockets. Don't be like Wenger here.
