Will be interesting to see if the replacement at Brentford is McKenna. In the back of my mind I've been wondering with Benhams analytics background if he'd be more looking at a young European appointment like what his big rival Tony Bloom has done at Brighton with Fabian Hurzler.1

I can’t see it working for Frank at Spurs. I hope it does because he’s a decent bloke but the systems used by Brentford and Brighton are so sophisticated and they’re driven by Benham and Bloom.
A mate is one of Tony Bloom’s main analysts at Brighton. It’s a relentless job where everyone is invested in the project and rowing in the same direction.
Will Levy allow that at Spurs? A system that relies heavily on data and not on an old fashioned ‘I’m the boss’ regime? I doubt it.But perhaps Frank is a good enough coach to make it work without the Benham system behind him. We’ll see.4 -

We've been using a similar system for the last 3-4 years since Paratici brought it in with him. I'd argue that Nuno did even better at Wolves than Frank has done at Brentford, he took Wolves from the Championship to 7th place in the PL twice and to a Europa league quarter final. He lasted 17 games at Spurs, and has since proved by getting Forest into Europe that he is no clown.
Everyone is raving about Frank, but Brentford were 16th last season and 10th this. Is he really the man to turn Spurs around?5 -
Nuno was probably on a par with Frank in terms of sensible managerial choices.
Not sure Spurs have got as many big names to throw their toys out of the pram as they did when Nuno was there.
Think Frank will get a better shot at it and dare I say it patience from the fans0 -

To be totally honest, I'm not overly convinced Frank is the right man. But then I wasn't convnced that Poch was the right man. The club statement rightly points out Frank's track record of developing players. Thats one thing Ange cant say he done as most of our players didn't look like they were improving, with exception of Bergvall, Gray and van der Venn (when fit obviously!)
Ange was right man, wrong manager. I'm not sure what my gut is telling me about Frank yet. He has got no experience of playing twice a werk on a regular basis (not that we'll need that beyond Christmas!). But he speaks well when I've seen him on tv and watching the sky thing on you tube about his day in the life, he looks like he actually coaches so we may improve.
But in the cold light of day, who out there is better AND obtainable?! says a lot really about the club.
Just the £75m paid out in compensation to coaching teams starting with Poch until now...

It's ironic, because years ago I always felt they followed a similar model to us!1 -
Yeah i think the same. He's obviously a good manager but after 7 years at Brentford i think he'll need some time to adapt to being at a bigger club. The question is whether he will be given the time. The Championship managerial merry go-round must be spinning faster than it ever has at the moment
So many clubs either managerless, got a brand new manager in or speculation about current manager moving on.
Can't think of a better season for a newly promoted, relatively steady club to establish itself in the league.

I don’t think he needs to adapt to being at a bigger club, all he needs to do is let the ‘bigger’ club adapt to the fact that, the same for Brentford and every other team, it’s all about there is just a squad of players from whom he has to pick 11 to start and some others to sit on the bench (I’ve no idea how many subs they have on the PL and not bothered enough to look it up, that’s something for 2025/2026).Chris_from_Sidcup said:
